Question about 2000 Lexus Gs 300

3 Answers

My 2000 GS 300 has a clicking noise when the air conditioner or heater is running. It sounds like a fan clicking and it does not do it all the time. A mechanic friend said (without looking at the car) that I probably need to drain the antifreeze and then refill. What do you think?

Had a similiar problem with my vehicle and it turned out to be a letter had fallen out the back of the glove compartment into the blower fan housing under the dash. Lower the compartment door and try to reach in the housing to remove. If not accesible remove blower fan housing ( not hard ) and remove object. Good Luck!

My thoughts are that you have a leaf or two that have gotten into the fan motor box between the plastic and the actual squill cage fan, annoying but can take a fair amount of work to fix.Try running the fan on high then off several times to dislodge or chew up the debris,if that does'nt work you need to remove the blower motor and remove the debris by hand. The noise your friend is discribing is more like a rush of water noise or a gurgleing noise due to low fluid.

Coolant will not make a clicking noise. Intermittant clicking that changes frequency with fan speed is usually a fan motor, common symptom

You may have a burned out fan, jumper 12 volts to the fan and see if it runs, if not replace it and the control relay.

check your blower motor under the passenger side of the dash, round plastic box three screws pull it out something might have fallen though your cowl and chewed up the fan blades. as for the ac your r-12 is probly empty or has a leak bring it to a local garage and have them flush and fill your cooling system. heater would be your thermostat not openig properly, by far your cheapest fix under ten dollar part.

There is a water leak coming from the back of the motor in the 1994 lexus gs 300

If it's water, and not coolant, sounds like your air conditioner drain. They are usually located near the fire wall.

2003 lexus gs 300 makes loud grinding noises while air conditioning is running. The noise lessens when pushing on the gas, but gets louder when idling or in Park and Neutral gears.

One of three things. I would start with removing the belt and checking the idler and tensioner pulleys to see if they are running smoth. The third item would be the ac compresor brg.

Air conditioner won't run

it sounds like you have a bad fan, they are typicaly easy to replace. Just find the old one either on the fire wall of your car or under the dash.
