Question about 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
You should also make sure that the wires are tight on the battery

You should also have the alternator tested, as that's what recharges the battery while the car is running. I had to have mine replaced about 18 months after I bought it. Jetta's are known for electrical issues, unfortunately.

You have a short somewhere, or a light is being left on. There could be a number of reasons, you'll need to troubleshoot by process of elimination. Check to see that the fuel pump shuts off when it should, check to see that no lights stay on, check any potential source of power drain, even the alarm system.
