Make sure there are no vaccum leaks, if no leaks found then may have a bad idle air control valve,

I just read about a recall from Mazda in 2007 for some accelerator cables. Apparently the recall is to fix exactly what you describe. Do a search for 2003 mazda tribute recalls and you should find it.

Why doesn't it drop down to idle when I stop?

Is it always idling high?? Or just when you accelerate?? If its running high all the time, suspect a vacuum leak( unplugged vaciuun hoses, intake manifold leak, etc.) If it only does it when you accelerate and it wont come back to idle, suspect a bad tps or something sticking and letting your throttle to stay open.

My 1997 grand prix idiles high when you start it stays at 2to 3 grand on r.p.m

The most common causes of high idle speed is a faulty idle air control valve, a sticking throttle cable, or dirty throttle body.
It could also be a vac leak, but that usually does not come and go.

99 Chrysler Town and Country idles high

Maybe a sticking choke or binding throttle linkage. Have you lifted the aircleaner cover and looked down carb opening? Choke stuck?
Could be a simple idle speed adjustment also. What rpm's do consider to be high. Maybe some carb cleaner down the barrels and throttle linkage could free it up. Again, it could be a simple idle adjustment depending on RPM's it's turning.

Come to stop truck wont idle it shutts off

That's a very high rpm for an idle! It should be between 700 to 9oo rpm. This truck needs a tune up, at least!

2004 Dodge Durango. when started it idles high to 2000 RPMS then when on the road it stays at an rpm, you dont have to push the pedal it just goes by itself.

It sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve is stuck. This will give you a fixed idle it can stick at high idle or low or anywhere in between. If you take off the air cleaner you see where the air is getting sucked into a small slot or hole. spray some carb and choke cleaner in there let it sit for about 5 minutes then start the engine. spray a little at a time with the engine running till the idle comes down by itself. This should take about 2-3 minutes. If it wont come back on its own take the 2 torx screws out and remove it clean with carb and choke cleaner and replace. If it still fails it will need to be replaced. MOST of the time cleaning it will work

Weird idle when clutch is disengaged

Sounds like a bad idle air motor (That controls idle) But you must pull compiter codes first (The computr tells it what to do)

Question? is the engine's heat normal, if not there's sensor that boosts idle when the engine is cold

If you removed the thrmostat, put it back in.FIRST

I cant remember what I had replaced about 5-6 months ago, seems like it was a sensor. My 1993 Ford Explorer is not running or idling at normal speed. When I pull up to stop it is like it stays engaged and...

listen for a hissing noise(vacuum leak around the pcv elbows or upper intake gaskets) this will cause a high idle set off lean codes which will say bad o2 sensors alson check idle air control valve which is located by throtlle body this will stick causing the vehichle to not run at idle sometimes taking it off and cleaning the carbon buildup out will fix the problem use some break cleaner

High Idle and Torque Converter wont lock in all the time

i would check the iac valve on all three of your vehicles and on the ones that are sticking and wont idle down i would also verify that the throttle plate in your throttle body is not hanging up on a bur or something.
