Did engin overall replaced lifter for oil and oil pump but still no oil goes up to valves please help

to carryout a few tests safely pull out the fuel pump fuse disconnect the coil or coils and remove the plugs so the engine can turn over easy and not start to run. Next when the pump draws oil from the sump it goes through the oil filter then through the block and to the head. So loosen the oil filter just one full turn then crank the engine to see if oil ooze out if it does then pump is good if not the start by the pump. Next fasten the filter and if the engine has a oil pressure switch in the head remove it and crank to see for oil if not then its a possibility when the head gasket was installed it was put down wrong or the wrong gasket thereby covering the oil feed hole from the block to the head

Where is the oil filter on a 1957 studebaker with a flat head 6?

Hi Anthony:

What a great old toy you're playing with.
If I'm recalling correctly, the oil filter was an "element" that fitted into a cannister. It was located towards the rear of the engine, right behind the coil in your picture.
Here's a link that shows it.

Had the pressure bypass valve malfunction on my 2.5 jeep put new oil pump in and with 45lbs. Oil pressure motor still sounds dry of oil, what gives?

it's not priming.
that grease trick helps.
is this some china pump off fleabay or a real jeep pump..???
did you do the below.:
1: the grease sure. and then prime the filter and the gallery behind the
filter.
2: With fuel and spark defeated, and spark plugs removed then with pressure gauge attached to sender port, did you crank it to get max pressure (my guess is this is the step you are posting on.)
i never start any engine, (after majors) unless i get #2 to work first the number 3, which is top end oil checks.

the pump is no priming.
In pro shops they make up a priming tool. so new engines are never
started, 1st time dry, ever.
one way is just a tank full of oil and shop air, and 2 valve.

maybe the new pumps relieve valve is stuck open, fully.
i rebuild my own classic engines, after all that work !!! i never
ever, skip these steps.
and for 100% sure, good pressure, and top end oiling on any major work.

I changed out the KA24E in my 96 Nissan 4x4 pickup. The bad engine in the truck had 3 keys that the 2 part harmonic balancer slides over. The engine that I got from a supplier had a one piece harmonic...

From the diagram in the service manual, it looks like the front of the crankshaft has two keys, in line with each other. Those two keys drive the crankshaft timing gear, the oil pump drive gear, the oil thrower (all inside the timing cover) and the crankshaft pulley (external). If your oil filter is dry, you're not pumping any oil. Pull the timing cover back off and see if the oil pump drive gear is correctly locked onto the key in the crankshaft.

We are overhaulin a 4hf1 engine. There seems to be no oil circulation. The oil light is not going off too. We have purchased a new replacement oil pump but no change.

Oil pressure switch is on the opposite side of engine to oil filter so the oil has to have pressure through the crank to go off.
To trace:
1. Remove sump/oil pan and remove oil pump.
2. Check oil pump turning it by hand.
3. Is the oil outlet pipe going to filter connected? There is s rubber O ring at the top too. Check.
4. Remove oil filter and check gallery pump to filter using compressed air.
5 If ok check oil filter to engine gallery as above. You might have to loosen the main bearings so that the oil gallery is not restricted by the bearings.
6. Remove oil pressure switch and blow jouna from tha end as well.
7. All that done and with oil OK down there chech if you are getting oil on the rockers after starting engine. If OK then you are done. If not check head gasket installation.

Do i need o prime my brand new crate motor

I would prime it. fill the oil filter up as much as you can with oil. now take the distributor out ( mark or remember where the rotor is pointing) now take a large screwdriver or something that you can turn the pump until it gets hard to turn, then keep turning it for another 20 seconds, then you should be primed. you can damage your new engine if it runs without oil for a several seconds. The easy way , but I dont like it, is disconnect the coil or whatever so it wont start and try cranking the motor until the oil light goes out, then rehook everything and crank it up.
