Question about 1986 Ford F 250
The float in your tank has gone bad, happens over time. Either reset your trip odometer each time you fill if you know how many miles you can get out of a tank or you'll have to drop your tank and replace your float. On the old Fords its not a huge job, just a pain. Make sure your tank is as empty as can be before you drop it though! I'm speaking from experience here...
