Your charcoal evap. canister is full of gas from overfilling the tank.
It must be replaced - as fumes are not escaping and shutting off the pump with back pressure.

You're right, its not venting. There could be anything stuck in there, leaves are likely culprits this time of year.

The other possibility is, if the vehicle has been in an accident, the fuel fill pipe going from your tank to you gas filler hole is kinked.

If you have a kinked line get it replaced. If you have a clogged vent try to either pull it out if you can reach it with tweazers, **** it out with a vaccuum, or blow it into the tank with a high pressure air hose. Blowing it would be the last choice for obvious reasons but regardless of what it is your fuel pumps filter should catch it and keep it from being sucked into your fuel lines.

When fueling my 2002 hyundai 350L the fuel keeps stopping as if full,I have to fill it very slow

This happens when the tank ventilation system gets clogged, or the bottom of the fuel tank is bent inward. When you fill the tank it displaces air as the fuel goes in. It acts like its full because it can't vent the air out of the tank

It takes for ever to put fuel in the car because the pump keeps shutting off

Usually a blockage in the small vent pipe inside the filler pipe, or the vent for the gas tank.

Fuel backs up when fueling

Check the evap fuel canister...make sure its not clogged with dirt or fuel. Check the evap canister vent solenoid- it should be open with the car off.

When i fill up with gas l can drive about quarter mile engine will surge and shut off will start right back and no trouble till refuel again

One thought came too mind one this one and that is over-fueling, on todays cars you have too be carefull not to over fuel, if you keep pulling handle on gas pump to get that last .25 in, all you do is stuff fuel in all the emmissions or vapor lines for the venting of fuel tank back to engine. I dont know if this is whats happening but I thought it was worth passing on this info. my rule of thumb is to let pump shut off first time give it one more pull and after is shuts off second time thats it. dont keep forcing fuel in car. hope this helps.

Gas filler hose continually shuts off. I can only fill it with gas for a few seconds at a time and then I have to pull it out, re-seat the nozzle in the tank and start again. sometimes if I manually hold...

you have a faulty antirollover valve witch is located in the gas is stuck in the shut off position.explaning wy you can't put gas in it.
what is the code that keeps setting?
the antirollover valve is a plastic spring loaded ball that prevents fuel spillage from the tank in the case that your vehicle should be upsidedown. these valves have been known to fail ,causing problems refueling the vehicle.

When I fill up my caravan, the pump shuts off after a few seconds and keeps doing that the entire time the car is being filled. It shuts off like it is full, but it isn't. This has happened the last 3...

check the vent hose from evap system from fuel tank, the most coomon problem is a sipers web, that blocks vent hose so air and vapors can not be released causing pump to shut off all the time, good luck.

Ford 2005 Escape

you have a vapor vent tube problem. When fuel goes in, the iar must come out. The filler pipe has a vent pipe inside it. Try putting the nozzle in upside down & see what happens. Try putting the nozzle all the way in & see what happens? Try putting the nozzle in just a little way & see what happens.
Otherwise, you may need a new filler pipe.

Blower problem

I am going to take an educated guess and say, that your "check engine light" is for the EVAP system, codes like P1448 (vent control valve) is stuck shut not allowing the vapors to escape while you are filling up, shutting the pump off. Let me know what the code number is and we will take it from there.
