You can do them in the drive way they are really easy to do. but if the king pin is frozen in there then you have to pull the front axle and have it pressed out. if you have air tools you have a better shot at doing it, if not i would take it to the shop and have them do it, I've replaced many and it's about 50/50 on how well they come out. the bigger trucks not so much of a worry

How do i replace king pins on 1939 buick?

In general terms, you would remove the front wheels, remove the retainer clip or lock for each pin, and drive the pins out with a brass punch or other tool. Then the bushings can be replaced.
I would suggest getting a repair manual for the car or for that era since each make is different. Sometimes a special puller is needed.

Sound like what you need, is door hing pins, they go on the hinges, remove hing pine and brass bushing, install new ones, you will need a jack or some thing to hold the door up while you replace the bushing's and pin's.

The front passenger Door has dropped ,how can I re-align the door again? This is a Ford Escort 1.6 Finess 2000 reg

you need to replace the door pin bushings. open your door look at where the hinges are. there are two pins holding the door on. on those those two pins are four brass bushiings look close you will see them. thats what needs replaced. it costs about $70.00 to have replaced. if you can do it the bushing set is about $12.00. you will need a jack or two other people to hold the door up

Hear a popping noise when braking. Could this be

This vehicle does not have king pins. There are a lot of front end parts that go bad. Ball joints, stab links, sway bar bushings. Best bet would be to have a proffesional take a listen to it.

1996 lincoln door hinge adjust

Which door is it ? If it is a front door, then it may be the hinge pin bushing that needs replacing. These can be bought at any auto parts store. Get the pin and bushing set because the hinge pin will need to be ground off to remove it. Press the new bushings in with pliers and insert the new pin from the top
