Another Alternate Method For In-Line Engines An alternate and perhaps somewhat quicker method is to follow the accompanying diagram which is arranged so that any piston can be at top center to start.

i need the firing orderfor a 1941 series 61 cadi. - 426a969.gif
On Straight 8 Cars

Start with the cylinder in the firing position (piston up, both valve lifters down) and work around the diagram in the direction of the arrow. Count the cylinder in firing position as the first cylinder.
1st—Both.
2nd—Exhaust.
3rd—Inlet.
4th—Inlet.
5th—Exhaust valve.
6th—Exhaust valve.
7th—Inlet.
8th—None.
Rotate the engine one full turn to bring the same pair of pistons to top center, but now the opposite cylinder will be in firing position. Again start with the cylinder in the firing position and again work around the chart in the direction of the arrow.

8-Cylinder Engines with 1-6-2-5-8-3-7-4 Firing Order
Stage A—No. 1 and No. 8 piston at top center.

No. 1 in firing position (both lifters down).

Stage B—No. 1 and No. 8 pistons at top center.

No. 8 in firing position (both lifters down).

    Stage A—Adjust

    No. 1—Both valves.

    No. 2—Exhaust valve.

    No. 3—Inlet valve.

    No. 4—Inlet valve.

    No. 5—Exhaust valve.

    No. 6—Exhaust valve.

    No. 7—Inlet valve.

    Stage B—Adjust

    No. 2—Inlet valve.

    No. 3—Exhaust valve.

    No. 4—Exhaust valve.

    No. 5—Inlet valve.

    No. 6—Inlet valve.

    No. 7—Exhaust valve.

    No. 8—Both valves.

There is a margin of safety in the above chart also, so that it is not necessary to have the piston exactly on top center.

Possible crank angle sensor or cam sensor. You need to determine what lets your car know when to fire & work from there.

Two problems 86 cadillac devile v8 my vents dont blow out but hear the blower motor. trans slipping with lucas thinking bands what to do

I had the same problem with my 86 cadi, Its the power module to the blower motor you need to replace it. Get a manual to locate it. But it should be against the fire wall under the hood on the passanger side and will have two white clips and some bolts holing it in. My transmission was slipping and to the point that i kept driving it and lost second gear. I replaced the tranny myself that may be what your gunna have to do or take it in.. not cheap tho. I also am replacing my head gaskets cause the head bolts tend to stretch cause they are so long on that model.

Need to know lbs of torque and sequence for the heads on a 1995 jeep wrangler with a 2.5

From autozone.com:
To install:

  1. Thoroughly clean the gasket mating surfaces. Remove all traces of old gasket material. Remove all carbon deposits from the combustion chambers. Lay a straightedge across the head and check for flatness. Total deviation should not exceed 0.001 in. (0.025mm).

The cylinder head gasket used on the 2.5L engine is a composition gasket. The gasket is to be installed dry. Do not use gasket sealing compound on the gasket.
  1. Fabricate 2 cylinder head alignment dowels from 2 used cylinder head bolts. Cut the head of the longest bolt off below the hex head. Then cut a slot in the top of the dowel to allow easier removal with a screwdriver.
  2. Install one dowel in bolt hole No. 10 and the other dowel in bolt hole No. 8.
  3. Place the cylinder head gasket over the dowels with the numbers facing up.
  4. Place the cylinder head over the dowels.
  5. Coat the threads of bolt No. 7 only, with Loctite PST sealant or equivalent.
  6. Install all head bolts except Nos. 8 and 10.
  7. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration to the following:
    1. Tighten bolts 1 through 10 in sequence to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
    2. Tighten bolts 1 through 10 in sequence to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
    3. Recheck bolts 1 through 10 in sequence to verify that they are 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
    4. Tighten bolts 1 through 6 in sequence to 110 ft. lbs. (149 Nm).
    5. Tighten bolt 7 to 100 ft. lbs. (136 Nm).
    6. Tighten bolts 8 through 10 to 110 ft. lbs. (149 Nm).

During the final tightening sequence, bolt No. 7 will be tightened to a lower torque than the rest of the bolts. Do not overtighten bolt No. 7.
  1. Connect the temperature sending unit wire.
  2. Install the spark plugs.
  3. Install the compressor.
  4. Install the compressor/alternator bracket mounting bolt.
  5. Adjust the alternator drive belt.
  6. Install the air conditioning compressor drive belt.
  7. Install the intake and exhaust manifolds.
  8. Install the power steering pump bracket.
  9. Install the pushrods. Keep them in order!
  10. Install the rocker arms. Keep them in order!
  11. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the head and rocker cover and install as outlined earlier in this section.
  12. Install the air cleaner.
  13. Connect the hoses at the thermostat housing.
  14. Connect the battery ground.
  15. Fill the cooling system.

I am looking for the cylinder head torque specification for the 3.3litre chrysler town and country 2003

Tighten the cylinder head bolts 1 - 8 in the sequence shown in Cylinder Head Bolts Location and Tightening Sequence Using the 4 step torque turn method, tighten according to the following values:
Step 1: Bolts 1 - 8 to 61 N·m (45 ft. lbs.)
Step 2: Bolts 1 - 8 to 88 N·m (65 ft. lbs.)
Step 3: Bolts 1 - 8 (again) to 88 N·m (65 ft. lbs.)
Step 4: Bolts 1 - 8 turn an additional 1/4 Turn. (Do not use a torque wrench for this step.)
NOTE: Bolt torque after 1/4 turn should be over 122 N·m (90 ft. lbs.) If not, replace the bolt.

Tighten head bolt number 9 Cylinder Head Bolts Location and Tightening Sequence to 33 N·m (25 ft. lbs.) after head bolts 1 - 8 have been tighten to specifications.
