By the time the shop is done with you it will be a serious cost problem. It is best to take it for a spin overto another shop or two for their opinion.

I have 2005 Cavalier there is persistent knocking noise coming from glove box area

Hello, this was easy to figure out. You got a knocked up wigit behind the glove box.
Sorry for making a joke on some vehicles problems Please except my apologies.

First, Check the exhaust manifold on the engine. Checking for cracks or broken exhaust manifold.

Second, Check the McPherson Strut on the passenger side of your vehicle. There a coil spring with a heavy duty shock absorber/ Check and make sure that the strut isn't broken or damaged.

Third, Check the upper and lower A arm ball joints. These ball joints attach to the left and right axle hubs. This could be problem here if there are out. I hope this helps you in diagnosing you vehicle problems. GB...stewbison

Coolant antifreeze is coming out of the exhaust but the car isnt loosing any power

You have a blown head gasket, intake manifold gasket, or exhaust manifold gasket. This will eventually cause serious engine damage; get it fixed right away.

How do I replace the serpentine belt on my 2000 Plymouth Breeze 2.4l engine?

the tensioner is on the alternator there is usually a cover over it you need to loosen the 2 screws on the alternator and turn the "adjuster" screw till the belt is loose enough to come off note the whay it is run then install and tighten the new belt it must be very tight or it will slip

96' toyota corolla Exhaust Manifold Keeps Cracking

Sounds weird that this problem keep occurring over and over. Does it crack in the same spot every time?

Only two things I can think of that would cause this problem.
1. Extensive over heating, I've seen a exhaust manifold get glowing red hot because of a bad oxygen sensor.

2. Excessive Vibration. The whole exhaust line to the back of the car is moving around too much or too stiff. The exhaust line needs to move around enough to take the movement/vibration of the engine. I would check out for bad motor mounts and worn out exhaust pipe mounts.

Serious Oil leak while running

The oil pressure sensor is likely leaking. The tops of them break off due to the heat from the exhaust manifold. Luckily its on the front so the exhaust manifold isnt that hard to loosen up so that you can get in there to replace the sensor. I would fix this ASAP as it is a serious fire hazard.

97 chev. 4 banger (2.2) need to pull head, Chilton manual isworthless... need good, concise info or instructions.

If you have never replaced a head gasket before the best advice I can give is leave it to a professional, as on modern vehicles there are a number of electrical, emissions, and vacuum connections that can and will cause very serious problems if not disconnected or reconnected properly.

If you feel the need to replace it yourself it's essentially10 steps.

KEEP ALL FASTENERS, AND WIRING HARNESSES ORGANIZED

remove the upper fan shroud
remove the serpentine belt, fan and pulley
loosen and remove the alternator
remove the air cleaner assembly up to the throttle body
remove the upper radiator hose, thermostat, and housing loosen and remove the heater hose
remove all electrical connections from the upper intake, then remove the fuel lines from the lower intake. Good luck with the rear fuel connection as it is snug against the block and the firewall
loosen and remove the heater hose bracket on the intake manifold
remove the intake manifold
remove the remaining bolts from the accessory bracket on the front of the engine and set the A/C compressor and PS pump aside (DO NOT DISCONNECT HOSES)
remove the oil dipstick/filler tube bracket and pull it out
disconnect exhaust manifold from exhaust down pipe
remove exhaust manifold nuts, then remove exhaust manifold
compress and remove rocker arms and push rods (KEEP IN ORDER)
remove head bolts
Remove head without prying between head and block
Send head out for machining or replace with new head

Installation in reverse of removal

Hope this helps
