The relay that controls the AC compressor is located in the under-hood fuse box at the drivers side fender area, open that box and locate the AC compressor relay, plug the compressor back in and then remove the relay, if the compressor stops the relay is most likely bad, but to test this when u plug the relay back in see if you feel and hear a click in the relay, if so the relay control wire from the computer is either shorted or the computer is defective, this computer is known as the ECM.

How to check lincoln air suspention pump to see if is putting air to rear bags

First check to see if the pump runs when the key is turned on, if not check the 30 amp fuse in the fuse box right side under the hood. If the fuse is blow the pump may have over heated from running longer than it should. As old as this car is it most likely has dry rotted air bags. If the pump runs spray the rear bags with windex and look for any bubbles should be none. This could get expensive if the pump is already gone.

Open the hood, standing in front of the car, the compressor is located all the way on the right hand side(drivers) and all the way to the back(windshield) of the engine bay. it is all the way on top of everything by the wheel well very easy to get to.

Found the fix on another forum - replace the AC clutch relay in the power distribution box under the hood.

This has worked for at least two people with this exact problem so far.
