Question about 1998 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
'97 sonoma 2.2ltr misfires under load.it will sit and idle fine.i have replaced; wires, fuel pump/filter,plugs, headgasket, coil packs, scanned it and all i come up with is misfire #3 cylinder and an egr code.wen i did the head gasket i got it machined and pressure checked, all was good.i have tried disconnecting the egr solenoid and no change.
i am at my wits end with this, the shop i was working at couldnt nail it down, but we dont have a scope either.ideas?
Check compression. If not within spec, follow it with a cylinder leakdown test. You may have bad piston rings, especially if you've noticed it consuming oil.

Check the fuel pressure regulator, make sure it's working properly and also clean out the MAF sensor with MAFcleaner. it sounds like your having the engine go lean under load. Good luck
