Difficult case, if it has been in a shop and the mechanic can't find the problem when he actually has the car, my solution will be speculative at best, since I don't have the luxury of being able to test and diagnose personally. That being said...here goes. The fact that they changed fuel pumps leads me to believe that the mechanic thinks the problem is in the fuel delivery system. Is that confirmed? How did he reach that conclusion? Was it confirmed that the first fuel pump was not working...the second? The third? First, from your description, I have little or no faith in your mechanic...so I would question everthing and start from square one, as if he had done no repair at all. Pretending that I know nothing about services previously performed, I would begin diagnostics when the car stops and determine whether the break down is an ignition, (lack of spark), related problem, or does it indeed have something to do with the fuel mix delivery. First and easiest, when the car stops, check to see that you have spark from the coil to the distributor, and to all of the cylinders...if you don't you have eliminated the fuel system...if you do, then you have narrowed the problem to the fuel system. If it is the fuel system you must determine if the fuel is being delivered to the cylinders or not. If not, then the reason must be diagnosed, if it is, then you must determine if it is adequate and combustable. Do code diagnostics, check for leaks, vacuum systems and sensors. Check filters, check injection. Before you can fix it, it has to be proberly diagnosed, otherwise, you will be buying and changing parts all over the car...Good Luck.

Died on freeway and would not restart ? When you turned the key what happened ? Did the starter engage and spin the engine ? Or nothing happened . Why did you charge the battery ? Did you drain it trying to start it or it drained when driving the vehicle an it killed it ? Before replacing parts did you have it diagnosed or did you just replace parts ?

Car stalls and will not restart while hot

Try a used computer from a salvage yard. They are cheap. Crank sensor or cam sensor may also be bad. Not sure which one that model has.

2000 Dodge Stratus SE stalling and not restarting

Sounds like a broken wire probably close to where the computer is. I would inspect the harness here and then under and around the power distribution module (fuse and relay box under the hood) This can be removed for closer inspection of the contacts underneath.

Check all sensor connections especially the crank

Pull the MAP sensor plug connector out and try to start the car, if it starts and runs rough and then wont when the map is plugged in then replace it and you are a go.
I think this is your problem or fuel pump or the fuel pump wire is corroded typically where it connects to the harness and then goes into the body.
This is somewhere to start at least.

1995 ford taurus v 6 stalls when hot restarts on cold

I had one with a poltergeist in it. It might run fine for weeks and one day when it's above 90 it would shut off. Let it sit for about a half hour and it would run fine for a few days or weeks. The Ford dealer could not figure it out. I found out it was not getting fuel even though it had a new pump and filter, same problem. Found a good used fuel regulator and that seemed to help out as the old one was full of rust. It shut off about 6 months after that and restarted & I soon sold that problem.

I have a 96 S-10 Blazer, Does not want to start

Replace the fuel filter to help the fuel pump, but it sounds like the fuel pump check valve has gone bad and your losing your fuel pressure to start the engine. Your going to have to keep priming the fuel system by turning the ignition key to the run position for 5 seconds 3 times before you try to start the engine. The only fix for this is to replace the fuel pump, and that is costly. Good luck and take note: the fuel pump has a life time of around 150,000 miles and anything past that is borrowed time.

if none of those worked, try the fuel filter. some times it can clog. when you stop the stuff falls too the bottom and then when you start it is clogs it back up so it wont run. then you have to wait for it to fall again.
