Well first you have to remove the rear drive shaft, then the transffer case, then you can unbolt the flex plate from the torque convertor, and unbolt tranny from engine.

There's alot more to it than that, but thats the basics in a nutshell.

Unbolt the Intake Manifold, install the new gaskets and bolt it back in place. My best advice to you is go to a auto parts store and buy a manual as it will tell you exactly how to do it.

I cannot locate the broken audio amplifier in my recently obtained 1989 Bronco II. I don't want to disassemble the whole thing if I don't have to. Help?

It's behind the right front kick panel. Remove the trim peice from under the door, remove the kick panel screw, and pull out the kick panel, that last part will be a little tough but it can be done without taking off the roof trim.

Does a torque converter for a 1989 ford bronco trwo have antyhing to do with a fly wheel

The torque converter bolts to the flex plate at the rear of the engine. It supplies the link between the engine to the transmission.

It's known as a "Flex Plate" and not a "Fly Wheel". The flywheel is use on a standard transmission.

Removing Ford Bronco II 1989 Transmission

I'd recomend you go buy a chilton's manual from the parts store. They have pretty good instructions on how to do this. You probably won't have to remove the motor mounts. Just the transmission mount and the whole thing will drop pretty far.

Ford Bronco II standard tran. Has no 1st or 2nd gear.

Replace the transmission fluid. I think those used ATF, but check to be sure. (if you made the mistake of using 80/90w drain it...those transmissions were not designed for 80/90w. gear oil)

1989 bronco II, 2.9 V6 automatic transmission

My ATSG manual says to tighten the adjusting screw in to 10ft-lbs, then back it out exactly 2 turns. Holding the screw, tighten the lock nut to 35-45ft-lbs. The intermediate band is set the same way.
