My pulley belt has come off . one of the round plastic things have come off and i need a diagram to show me how to put the long belt back on. it a 53 volvo v 70

its in my aldata book but my printer scanner isnt connected to the computer ,sorry about this but?wow this is a complicated one anyway for a fello brit ? round bottom crank pulley then up to right around fan pulley to the right and under and round the PAS up to the left so the back is running against this pulley then over to the right to alternator and around the alternator then to the left and back of belt under this pulley over water pump then back of belt against tensioner pulley and back down to crank.Right time to go watch TV now .

DIY remove/replace serpintine belts on 1997 Buick Park Avenue with Supercharger.

There is no need to remove any bolts from the engine. It is usually easiest to raise the vehicle and remove the right front tire and the plastic splash shield to gain access to the lower engine pullies. It is a TIGHT FIT getting the belts in between the pullies and the fender. All I can say to that is "welcome to the wonderful world of auto repair! - NOW maybe you have a clue why we mechanics charge so much to do seemingly simple things like "just" replacing a little sepentine belt?"
Hopefully, the routing diagram below will help you to get the belts back on correctly.

I have a 2000 mazda 626 4 cylinder, and I am trying to replace the serpentine belt. I seem to missing something because there is too much slack left in the belt. Where does this belt attach to?

The belt is tightened by the TENSIONER pulley. That is a spring loaded smooth pulley the runs on the back side of the belt. After you have the belt on all the pulleys and IN THE PROPER SEQUENCE from pulley to pulley, the TENSIONER pulley has to be held away from the belt. The belt is slipped under the TENSIONER pulley and the pulley is slowly released to tighten the belt. If you have done all that and the belt is still loose, it may be the wrong size or you have it on the engine pulleys incorrectly. If you haven't moved the TENSIONER pulley to remove the old belt or the belt broke, you need to find the TENSIONER pulley and then carefully retract it. Here are some general instructions on the TENSIONER pulley, if you need them.

When you look at the serpentine belt, somewhere near the top you will see it runs over a smooth pulley. You will also notice that pulley is running on the back side of the belt. Most cars will have an arm that holds that pulley and is connected to a round housing approximately the same diameter as the pulley. That is the TENSIONER pulley and in the round housing is a very strong coil spring. In the center of the pulley there should be a hex nut. Put a socket the size of the nut on a long breaker bar and put it on the pulley nut. You should be able to move the pulley away from the belt by "turning" the nut. You may need to use a piece of pipe or other method to lengthen the breaker bar in order to turn it. As I said, it is a very strong spring. While holding the pulley away from the belt you can slip the belt off the nearest and smallest pulley. Then carefully and slowly release the breaker and allow the pulley to return to its released position. THIS CAN BE A DANGEROUS OPERATION THAT LOOKS SIMPLE. IT IS SIMPLE BUT BE AWARE THAT YOU MUST BE SURE YOU HAVE THE TENSIONER PULLEY UNDER CONTROL WITH THE BREAKER BAR AND THAT YOU CAN HOLD IT WHILE POSITIONING THE BELT UNDER THE PULLEY. IF IT SLIPS FROM YOUR BREAKER OR YOU CAN'T HOLD IT YOU COULD BE SEVERELY INJURED. TRY MOVING AND SLOWLY RELEASING THE PULLEY BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO PUT THE THE BELT UNDER THE PULLEY. GET HELP OR TAKE IT TO A QUALIFIED MECHANIC IF YOU ARE UNSURE!! Also, be sure you note the track of the belt before you remove it, so you can reinstall it. Some cars have a diagram of the belt, showing how it winds it way across all the pulleys. When you reinstall it, be sure the belt is properly aligned on all the pulleys before starting the engine. Be careful and good luck!

Need to replace serpentine belt on 2006 Nissan Altima. what are steps?

the first thing to do it locate the under hood diagram that shows the belt route. if there isn't one than be sure to make note or make your own diagram of the belt position and how it "snakes" around the pulleys and in what order. the next thing you need to do is locate the tension pulley. once you know which pulley is the tensioner you place a wrench and socket on the bolt in the center of that pulley. and turn it counter clockwise as you do you should notice the belt getting some slack as this happens slip the belt off the most accessible pulley. after you get the belt off the pulley be careful not to pinch your wrench on anything.once the tensioner has been released pull the belt out from around the other pulleys and replace with the new on pulling it around all but the most accessible pulley at which point you can reapply tension to the tension pulley and pull the belt around the last pulley before releasing and putting full tension on the belt take a good look and be sure that the belt is on all of the pulleys correctly then let off and voila thats that hope this helps

How do i change a fan belt on a 2000 chevy silverado

First thing's first; make sure that the routing diagram is still on the pickup. There's a sticker on the front under the hood that describes the way that the belt goes on. If you can't read it, then draw a diagram of how the current belt goes BEFORE you remove it. Next, look at the AC belt. It's a separate belt that is down towards the bottom. If it needs replacing, now is the time, because you have to take the main belt off in order to do so. Next, find the tensioner. If you're not sure which pulley it is, look for a black plastic pulley. If you see more than one, yank on the fan belt and see which one moves laterally. Put a box end wrench or a ratchet and socket on the bolt in the middle of the pulley. It should move clockwise(otherwise you're removing the bolt). This will allow the belt to loosen. While it is loose, slip the belt off the water pump pulley. This is the smooth black pulley, about 4-5" in diameter. Once you have this complete, you can release the pressure on the idler pulley, and remove the belt. Next, route the new belt, and put it on in the same way that you removed the old one. That's it!

Changed the power steering pump on 2006 impala and need a diagram to show how to put the belt back on

Start at the crankshaft (bottom pulley) and loop the right side behind the belt tensioner. Match smooth pulleys to the back side of the belt and grooved pulleys to the inside of belt. There should be a pic on a label under the hood also.

Need a timing belt diagram

if the timing belt has no teeth on it your in alota trouble, its a cog belt should have alot deep teeth. the tesioner in underneth the plastic cover for the belt and its automatic, adjusts w a spring loaded arm and is dampened hydrauicly. if you need a diagram go to autozone or gates belts company for a diagram

Fan belt

the belt is very long but it zig zags round all the pulleys,do you have air con?Whatever happens,round one pulley multi v then back of belt round idle then repeat all the way round..good luck..the little shock-spring tensioner is a pain also

Serpintine belt installation?

when you lift the hood on your car and look on the panel by your radiator or the cover that covers the top of your radiator is there a diagram that shows the routing of your serpentine belt? Most all cars have this diagram in the place. It shows how the belt is routed. The only other thing you need to know to get the old belt off and another one on is look for a pulley that has spring loaded tension on it that is called a Idler pulley. There should be a square hole in the front of the bracket for this idler pulley that will accept a 3/8 or 1/2 ratchet or breaker bar. Put it in the square hole and then use pressure to push the pulley down so that your belt will easily slip off. If you go to a parts store they will show you how to take it off if you buy the belt from them and can' figure it out.
