Hi. I have 2006 VW Jetta 2.0 TDI .I don't know why my car injectors socet hasn't got power electric? I changed Crankshaft sensor I changed camshaft sensor I changed injectors wiring harness.


Those sensors wouldn't affect power to the injectors.

You need a voltmeter, it's an electrical problem, so you need a digital volt/ohm meter (DVOM), or also called a multi-meter, and digital because many car circuits that are computer related operate at very low voltages or power demands, from milliamps to thousands of volts, like the ignition delivers to the spark plugs. So you buy a cheap multi-meter, then you also need a wiring diagram for your car to see how the fuel injector circuit works. but start there where you plugged in the new injector harness.

You are looking for power to the injectors, with key on. The injector harness has 8 wires; each injector has a power wire and a ground wire, so 4 of the wires in the harness should have power. At least on most American cars, the injector works by having the ecm control the ground for the injector . The power is constant. It is only when the ecm momentarily internally grounds the injector circuit that the injector fires. On your VW, the injector power wires and ground wires both go to the ecm.

Check if you still have power to that side of the injectors. With key on, the power wire to every injector should be hot. If no power, the computer cannot pulse the injectors. The power wire is spliced to each injector. Maybe that side has a broken wire.

I have a 1996 Sierra 4.3 v6 and I'm getting injector pulse to all my injectors except the no.2 cylinder. I have a new igniter, coil, cam and crank sensors, and injector what's going on????


If all injectors are working but #2 the power supply should be ok as there is one fuse for all injectors controlling power. However, I would check for power anyway at the injector harness to ensure there is no wiring issue. The ground side is controlled by a driver inside the computer. If power is good then there is a grounding issue causing the injector not to operate. Either the computer has an internal fault or the ground wire from the computer to the injector has a break/high resistance

if you have a $5 test light, you could find the problem. just know that all eight injectors have a constant voltage applied to them anytime the key is in run or start. and also that 4 of the injectors share a common ground, they have their ground wires spliced together before the ground wire enters the pcm to be internally grounded. and the other four injectors are the same- their ground wires splice together. so your four that don't pulse have lost either the power to them, or the common ground wire for the 4 may have broken. or lost connection.

it is easier to check the power side first, so clip a test light lead to the negative battery post or cable, turn the key to on,and probe each injector connector. one of the terminals at all eight injectors will be the power wire, and it should light up the test light. if all eight injectors have power to them, you know it must be a ground side problem. if you find that 4 injectors have no power to them, look for a broken splice in the power wire to all injectors. back in those days, injectors were "bank fired". one side or bank of the engine all had the injector grounds spliced together, so all injectors on one bank fired (pulsed) simultaneously, and then the other bank was fired or pulsed. that was good until sequential injection matched the pulse to the cylinder ready to fire, more precise, and in the modern systems each injector ground has a separate ground inside the pcm. no more splicing of the ground wires, and having bank fired engines.


when the pcm grounds the circuit, the injector coil is energized and the injector opens to spray fuel out. so the injector has constant voltage to it. only when the circuit is grounded is that power applied across the injector.

I have fuel but there is no power to the injectors to make them pulsate


It's a fused circuit, so check the fuse, probably under hood, labeled injector. A shorted injector can shut down the injector drive circuit, so pull off all injector connectors, make sure fuse is good, then check for power to the injectors. Injector circuit should nave hot wire anytime key is on. Has constant voltage to injectors. When the computer internally grounds the injector ground wire, the injector will pulse.

Check for an injector fuse in the fuse box under hood. Pull off one injector connector and use a testlight to check for a steady power signal on one of the two wires, with key on. Should have power on one wire. If not, pull all injector connectors off and check again-a shorted injector can shut down the injector drive circuit-if power now, reconnect injectors one at a time. If one connection causes power to be lost, that is a shorted injector. Replace it. If still no power and fuse is good, you will need a wiring diagram to check injector drive circuit.
If you have voltage at the injectors with key on, move the test light ground lead to the battery positive post, and put the test light probe on the injector wire that did not light the test light. Now have a helper crank the engine over-you should have a blinking light on this ground circuit. If no light, or light is not blinking, the ground circuit between injector and computer is bad. See? Steady power is available to injector anytime key is on. When the computer internally grounds the injector circuit for a split-second, the injector is energized, causing the pulse.

Problem for the injector can't inject


Pull off the injector connector and see if you have power on one of the two wires going to the injector, with key on. One of the wires should be hot with key on. The other wire is the injector ground. If no power on either wire, check the injector fuse. If fuse is good and is passing power with key on, check for broken wire between fuse and injector.
If you have power on the injector drive wire at the connector, post back, and I can walk you through checking the injector ground. You would need a simple test light.

Won't start


Maybe your injector circuit is not working. Pull off one injector connector and check for power on one of the two wires to the injector-turn key to on, and one wire should have power. If no power with key on, pull off all injector connectors and recheck for power- a shorted injector may shut down the injector circuit, that's why to pull off all injector connectors. If still no power on one wire to each injector, diagnose the injector drive circuit. Also check the fuse for injectors.
