If you have a 3.0 liter V-6 then yes. The timing belt runs from the crankshaft to both camshafts.

If i remove crankshaft will it affect the timing when i replace it

Why would you remove the crankshaft to replace the valve seals???? Do you mean camshaft? If so then yes it will need to be reset to the correct valve timing if the engine is an OHC with a belt driven cam or cams.

Timing belt 1 notch off efect on smog

Hi ther, the belt being 1 notch off should not effect smog, this is usually down to Air filter or fuel air mix or catalytic converter(if fitted),Be aware though that having timing belt off by even 1 notch can lead to catastrophic engine failure, for example engine timing being slightly out therefore allowing valves to impact pistons and spark plugs resulting in complete engine rebuild or replacement.

1990 taurus wont start. Battery voltage is 12.5. Has spark.Cranks, but seems like its bucking the starter. Replaced the starter, same problem. Cant find the timing mark to see if the gears are bad.

Sounds like your timing is off. With out hearing it it`s hard to say if it is valve timing or spark timing. Your car has a timing belt and it is possible that it has skipped a tooth which affects valve timing or you have a bad crank sensor which will affect spark timing. It would be best if you picked up a manual to check the timing belt and marks.

Is it ok to purchase a 1997 honda accord that has engine work after timming belt failed

Hmmmm... check the VALVES!

When timing belt SNAPS, the intake/exhaust valves are affected, mainloy they become STUCK up and won't move anymore' cause they are already BENT!

No worries to buy them, if they have already worked on them!

Hope that timed everything else! have a nice time driving that new bought car!

Timing belts

the chances are very high that the piston hit a few valves, it all depends on how many rpm the engine was and what position the valves were when it broke.
the cheapest route would be to install a new belt then do a compression test...then take it from there
good luck

Timing belt broke

the 1.8L engine is an interference fit engine, this means when the timing belt breaks the cam stops turning which leaves some valves open, the crank keeps spinning and hits them, causing them to bend. It doesn't mean that they are all bent, but you can bet some of them are
