Power steering pump is located beneath the alternator on that series impala you need to squeeze hand under it and feel for cap

If you have a hydraulic power steering pump it is located on the side next to the firewall and serpentine belt. useing a flash light may help.if your steering is electric there is no fluid.the electric motor is under the dash on the drivers side. hope this helps.

Whining sund when turning the stearing wheel

most likely it is your power steering fluid is low, or the power pump is going bad, or your serpetine belt is loose. The power steering pump is located behind the motor on the right side, you will have to remove the radiator over flow tank.

Where do I put power steering fluid in my 2000 Chevy impala?

The service info should be in your owners manual.
Normally the power steering tank is on the pump or close by.
The pump should be on the passenger side of the engine near the top.

Power stearing noise it grones as I am stearing.

it is possible that you might need to check the fluid level, if it is full the next step night be to have the system flushed out and replace the Power steering filter. Finally last would be to have the powr Str pump replaced, Good Luck!

I have a 2001 F 350 ford diesel . Started it up ,no brakes, no power stearing. Fluid on the ground, both pneumatic lines to brakes blown off. leaking fluid out of the power stearing line, blew connecting...

the hyrdra boost supplies pressure to these systems, that is done throught the power steering pump, the line or the pump is defective, I would replace both.

Easiest way to add power stearing fluid to a 2001 chevy impala v6 ??

Locate the cap to the power steering fluid reservoir
bc25493.jpg Remove cap and fill reservoir with GM Power Steering Fluid (P/N 89021184) or any fluid a knowledgeable parts department says is compatible. It may not look like much but there are a few dozen steering fluids available out there and lots of systems aren't compatible with many of them (wrong fluid will disintegrate seals, pumps, etc...)
