You may need to check your exciter wire. If you ndo not have power going through that wire, the ignition switch itself may be bad.

1985 Bronco Custom inline 6. Put a new battery on, new cables and new solenoid and new starter. There were two wires going to the Starter, when I replaced the starter I only put one. now it just clicks

One wire goes to the solenoid which is the clicking. The big wire goes to the starter motor directly from the battery. You cannot skip one.

I have a 1992 chevy 1500 p.u truck - it wont start its making a clicking sound but nothing is turning over. its not the battery we put a brand new one in and it still wont work. Any ideas?

The clicking is from your starter solenoid, trying to get the starter working. If your electrical connections to the starter are tight and clean, then the starter needs removing and testing.

79 chevy k10 starter problems

Fusible Links

The engine compartment wiring harness has several fusible links. The same size wire with a special hypalon insulation must be used when replacing a fusible link.
The links are located in the following areas:
  1. A molded splice at the starter solenoid Bat terminal, a 14 gauge red wire.
  2. A 16 gauge red fusible link at the junction block to protect the unfused wiring of 12 gauge or larger wire. This link stops at the bulkhead connector.
  3. The alternator warning light and field circuitry is protected by a 20 gauge red wire fusible link used in the battery feed to voltage regular #3 terminal. The link is installed as a molded splice in the circuit at the junction block.
  4. The ammeter circuit is protected by two 20 gauge fusible links installed as molded splices in the circuit at the junction block and battery to starter circuit.
Other things it MIGHT be are the ignition switch, located on top of the steering column:

The other thing it MIGHT be is a faulty ignition cylinder (where your key goes into to start the K10).

Check the wire harness on the steering column also.

2006 uplander has new battery and clamps no corrosion just clicks and no start

While your Chevy is still pretty new, it sounds like you have a starter solenoid issue. That's a typical symptom of its failure.

A starter solenoid (or starter relay) is the part of an automobile which relays a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. In many vehicles the solenoid also engages the starter pinion with the ring gear of the engine.
