This is usually an easy diagnosis, there should be a bleader valve on the fuel rail, (looks like a valve stem). turn the key on, push down on the center of the valve, if fuel sprays out, it is probably not the pump. becareful not to get gas in your face, plus on a rare occasion, the fuel pressure may be to low. usually when the pump goes out, it just quites though.

My car starts and then cuts off and hesitates when im driving and stalls

It sounds like you have some dirt in your gas tank or your fuel pump has one of your fuel lines have a crack init and sucking air . Good luck and let me know how you do. Your fuel pump is proubly below the trunk floor. remove the carpet and the bolts in the floor. number your hoses and remove the fuel pump. Use a ohm meter and ohm out the pump, or take it to auto parts and they will check it out for you. snor38@gmail.com

You say it is getting gas, do you know for sure that gas is getting past the injectors ? And do you have normal fuel pressure, compression, and spark at the plugs ?

My gmc jimmy truck starts with starting fluid then stopS

sounds like no gas getting to the carb. plugged fuel filter, fuel line, bad fuel pump. the carb should squirt a little gas when the throttle is pumped. leave ignition off while looking down the carb and pump the throttle linkage to visually check that gas is squirting down the carb with each stroke of the linkage. maybe you are just out of gas!!

low oil on some models will stop it from starting however I would say you have a fuel filter stoped up this happens sometimes when you run a car out of gas they pick up trash,

Engine does not start after filling it

Sounds like you have a bad vent valve in the gas tank. When you fill the tank gas also fills the emission vapor canister. When you try to start it, the gas is pulled through the canister purge solenoid, flooding the engine. To test this, unplug the canister purge solenoid and see if the problem stops.
