Matt : Where do you live ? There is an electrical repair place in my home town called roko , and I did not think there were others. If by some fluke we are in the same town , I would be willing to try to help with your truck. Sometimes it just takes another set of eyes to find the problem.

Also , try jumping it with the jumper hooked to the metal body instead of the negative battery post/cable

Have you cleaned your battery posts and clamps ?

Hello, This is could be very possibly just be a loose battery wire. There is a small ground wire that connects to your battery cable as well and it comes from your starter relay. If this burns out becuase of age or hooking up the cable wrong it can burn out this wire. This also could be a charging problem. Autozone will check all of your electrical system for free. You may have a bad alternator or your starter solenoid is not engaging becuase of a bad battery. This also could be your inertia switch. What this is a fuel shut off if you get in an accident. I've had several fords have this out becuase the switch get hot and the truck will just shut while your driving and then the truck will not start again for a couple days. Replacing the switch will cost you almost a hundred dollars and you can only get it from a dealership and a junk yard will not sell you one. I do not recommend bypassing the switch becuase if you get in an accident it will not shut off your fuel; if you want a quick fix and your truck to start you can bypass this but I do not recommend it. I hope this helps you.

This almost sounds like a loose ground. it could be were the battery grounds, or where the engine grounds to the chassis. both could cause this problem, and is common on some older f 150.

when you crank it, do you smell fuel? if you do, you're getting fuel so try replacing the distributer cap and even the plugs. if no gas smell, the fuel filter needs changing or the fuel pump is bad.

1992 Ford F250 Truck with start and idle problem

Could be many things, Check the EGR valve and make sure its not stuck open, Oil pressure low is probably due to rough idle or low RPM. Also may have restricted cat converter.

I have a 1992 F150 5.0 that wont start all i hear is one loud click

This sounds like it is either a bad battery with a possible dead cell or a bad solenoid. If you haven't done so try jumping the vehicle by connecting ground to the engine block and disconnecting the positive cable from the battery and connect the positive jumper cable to the positive cable directly. If the vehicle starts then the battery has a dead cell. If it starts and dies when the cable is disconnected you ahve a faulty alternator or charging circuit.

Battery draining fast

I would check the alternator again, it apparently isn't charging the battery with engine running. You need a volt meter or amp meter to test this. Also does the battery discharge when the car is not running?
