Age of the battery is in question if it is older than 5 years and now that it is getting colder this is the time of year that batteries will show if they are getting past it. date of manufacure should be stamped on the battery also it may have a small window which should show green check and see if this is the problem.

alternativly disconnect the battery and see if it also discharges when left idle for several days.
(note removal of the battery may lock up the radio ensure you have a pin number for the radio to unlock it again when the battery is replaced. or have an alternate power supply to the car)
if the battery is ok after this period it indicates that your car is using power when left idle. either a boot light or radio or some other is using power and will have to be switched off. if this is the case isolation can be done through use of an amp meter and removal of the fuses to indicate what may be causing the problem.

2010 G37 - battery was dead - jumped it off and drove it for twenty minutes. Next morning it wouldn't start and now it wont stop clicking (like a relay). Any suggestions?

if the battery goes dead or low it must be recharged with a charger, driving the car will not recharge it properly. The alternator is only meant to maintain the battery, not recharge it. Get the battery recharged and verified and then try again.

I just buought a 98 Volvo S70 T5, the car sat for abit, to the point were It had to jump it. to start. ran great for the next 2 hours off and on mybe 7 diffrent starts but it never running for more then...

It could be a number of things:
  • Bad connection or corrosion on battery cables
  • Dead cell in the battery would prevent it from charging fully
  • Bad or worn drive belt would slip, preventing the alternator from fully charging the battery
  • Bad alternator
If the car will run at idle with all accessories turned on, the alternator is good and you should concentrate on the battery and battery cables. If the car won't idle, then the drive belt and/or alternator could be the issue. If the car starts everytime when it's cold and only gives you a problem starting when the engine is hot, the starter could be the issue. A bad starter will often work when it's cold (after sitting a few hours or overnight). When a bad starter gets hot, it takes more and more power to get it to turn over.
Overall, I'd have the electrical system checked out. Most chain auto parts stores (Autozone, Advance Auto) will do a complimentary electrical test for you.

The 12 volt battery(LUCAS 065/3) on my FORD FIESTA 1100cc is 4 years old, in that time i have only driven 1,600 miles as my journeys are usually very local. I make sure i use the car twice a week to keep...

Running so few miles has accelerated the aging of the battery - the battery never had a chance to fully recharge in such small trips -  so now you have to replace it a year sooner than usual.
Just replace it.

I drove my car a short distance the other day, and when I went to start it later that day nothing happened. The start did not even engage. The car hadn't been driven in a couple days and the battery...

replace the battery. once the new one is in, the charging system should be tested for ability. the system should be charging anywhere from 13.5 - 14.7volts. anything less than that, replace the alternator. not uncommon for colder temps to "snap" batteries. happy holidays

Car won't start. Replaced battery. worked 3 days. They said it was the alternator. REplaced with new. worked another 4 days. had it check with advance auto said battery good, starter cranking normal....

if there is no charging then its back to the alternator or the way its hooked up? did you recharge your flat battery with a mains charger after it went flat the first time? as no alternator will charge a battery from flat to fully charged,,,,even if you drove around the world none stop! the new alternator may have given up working becouse you overloaded the voltage regulator trying to recharge a flat battery witch would mean it was very week to start with?
