The brake cylinder cups may not be seated properly on brake pads. if not seated properly the brakes will not work properly. take brakes off and see if this is your problem.

If the Mechanic on the job could not find out after working on it ? Brake Pads sound easy to fit , but they are not, if they dont go in 100% flat , problems. Another big problem, use GENUINE PADS, as fitted by manufacture, Afer market , unknown Pads not good.

Everytime I apply the brakes, there is a loud squeaking from the wheels and stops when I take my foot off the brake.

well usually that means the squeeler on the pad is rubbing the rotor, that lets you know your pads are needing to be changed.if thats not the case then it could be either the pads you have are just cheap pads or the pads and the rotor could be glazed over causing them to squeak.if the pads arent cheap pads or they dont need to be changed try cleaning them with brake cleaner to get brake dust off.

if, there no marks on rotors and they wareing off evenly ,no need to be change, the sound when you press the brakes its could be cause by cheap brake pads.dont get me wrong ,that depent on the market brand of the brake pads ,seem that who did your brake job didnt use a good brake pads.they will need to be change to avoid the noise.good luck

Ceramic Brake Pads or not?

Ceramic breaks are great for brake dust and they dont seem to want to squeel as easily. Yet they do like to get hot and cause problems with your rotor. I run ceramic on my 98 corvette and my 2008 Dodge truck and I have never had a problem. But i do regular maintance on my brakes that most people dont. I would recommend if you are just replacing the pads and are looking for long life and long term to not go ceramic. But those are my opions. I run mine on my truck and tow a horse trailers and they stop better

I changed my brake pads and discs and my brakes dont work

Double check the pads to make sure they are hooked in the caliper bracket right. If they are crooked then you will have no pedal. Just double check your work, you didn't miss anything. Is the pads and the rotors all you changed? Did you open the bleeders?

2004 grand caravan abs brakes

Sounds like you have pushed the brake peddle to the floor after you changed the pads. This can cause major probs in the master cylinder. The brake warning light should come on if this is the trouble. Frankster016

Brakes on my 1989 oldsmobile cutlass ciera ..

Sounds like your brake hose is broken down inside(the rubber hose between the caliper and the meatal brake line) . It will let fluid in and not let it back out acting as a 1-way check valve causing a drag and your pads to wear out early.

Good Luck.
