This is a sealed transmission, there is no dipstick, the plug to fill it is over the axle stub housing, but the dealer has to check the level with a special tool and a scanner..

There is a plug on the bottom of the trans right next to the engine i think its an 11mm. you have to remove it with the engine hot and running, and add fluid until it starts coming out that hole.

SOURCE: transmission dip stick

You have to buy one, can possibly get from wrecking yard but first make sure it is the same transmission by calling dealership and asking what years have the same trani.......must be the same because otherwise the length could be different and you would not get correct reading. But you really need one.

SOURCE: where is the dip stick for the transmission fluid

Does it have a fill cap on the top of the transmission? If so then have the car warm, running and in park, jack the car up evenly, and right under the passenger side cv shaft there is a small plug that you remove and slowly start filling the transmission until it starts to run out of the hole, then replace the plug

Car starts and when you give it gas it wont go any where and the rpm hand goes up and still dont move

This sounds like transmission problems, some of these models do not have a transmission dip stick to check the transmission fluid level.
The first step is to see if this car has a dip stick to check the transmission fluid level. Low fluid will cause this problem also or if there is a leak and fluid leaks low after time until it gets to low and transmission wont move.
if this model does not have a dip stick for the transmission then you will need to take it to a tranny or repair shop and have them check it.

If you have a dip stick and the fluid is full then you may have internal transmission problems and again will need a shop to check it out. Make sure if the fluid is low and you are adding you will need to make sure you are using the correct fluid or damage will occur , the type is written on the stick, look closely and you will see the writing ,

WERE IS THE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK?

Your car comes with a sealed transmission. It doesn't have a dip stick to check trasmission fluid. Only way to check it is to have someone who works on cars to check it for you or just take it in to the dealership so they can give you the info. Many new cars don't have a transmission dip stick.

Where do you add or check Pontiac Grand Am transmission fluid

THERE SHOULD BE A DIP STICK LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD CLEARLY MARKED TRANSMISSION. TO CHECK YOU NEED THE CAR RUNNING IN PARK OR NEUTRAL AND AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE WICH SHOULD BE AROUND 195 DEGREES. IF THE FLUID IS IN THE ADD CROSS SECTION THEN ADD ACCORDINGLY THE FLUID GOES IN THROUGH THE DIP STICK TUBE SO YOU WILL NEED A FUNNEL! GOOD LUCK

How to check transmission fluid and fill if nessesary.

if it is an automatic transmission, the dip stick is under the hood and should be on the drivers side of the engine, start the car leave it in park, pull the dip stick out and wipe it off with a cloth, reinstall the dip stick in the filler tube completely, and remove again and notice where the fluid level is on the dip stick,if you need to add fluid to bring it up to full, the correct fluid for your car is printed on the dip stick, you need a transmission funnel and put in in the tube you pulled the dip stick out of.
if you transmission is a standard, there is a 5/8 bolt on the side of the transmission you remove and put something like a screw driver in the hole to see where the fluid level is,.

Dipstick for transmission fluid

There is no transmission dip stick... it is a sealed system and no service is necessary. If it's leaking, you'll need to have the seal replaced.

I can't locate the transmission fluid dip stick for 2003 Grandam

Your transmission is sealed and has no dip stick, checking the fluid level properly involves using a factory scan tool.
