Question about 2002 Pontiac Sunfire

1 Answer

My low beams don't come on and if they do come on they go off when i start to drive. My high beams were working but now only the passenger side. I can't find the relay on my 2000 pontiac sunfire to see if that is the problem. Haven't changed the switch yet. I need help!

Make sure the bulbs are good first. The relays should be under the hood in a protective box.

The low beam on passenger side does not work, high beams work on both sides

Hi Greg:
I'd pull the bulbs from both sides and switch them.
You'll know right away if the bulb is the problem.
If low beam on the passenger side still does not work, then there is either a broken wire or bad connection. Make sure the area where the bulb fits into the socket is clean.
Usually there is only one bulb that has both high and low beam.

The headlights on my 84 chevy pickup are not working properly. When lights are on, and set for low beam, my driver side low beam does not come on - the passenger side does. When I set the high beams,...

You have lost the ground, evidently on the left side. The lamps act that way because one of the lamps is grounding through the elements of the other lamp.

Passenger side headlight won't work

This sounds like a wiring problem. I know it has been documented that the '01 eclipse headlight connectors have had issues with arcing and this problem sounds like the wiring may just be shorting instead of arcing. I would recommend starting at the bulb socket and working backwards along the wiring, looking for shorts along the way. It would also be important to note if your low beams do not work at all, versus working occasionally or even sometimes flickering while driving.
