  • Remove the air-bag from the steering wheel of the car. You will need to use a number 26 torx bit and unscrew the 4 bolts behind the wheel. Make sure you unplug the wires of the air-bag.
  • Use a 3/4 inch socket to remove the center nut on the steering shaft.
  • Use a steering wheel puller kit to remove the steering wheel. Place the bolts provided in the puller kit in the 2 holes on either sides of the center shaft.
  • Connect the puller to those bolts while keeping the puller inline with the center steering shaft.
  • Tighten the bolt on the top of the puller until snug then turn 1/4 turn more then strike the bolt with a non-maring hammer the steering wheel should pop off. If not, tighten bolt 1/4 turn more and strike.
  • Now you have access to the ignition lock. Use a 10mm socket and extension to loosen the silver bolt about 2in in from the keyhole. Now pull the old lock straight out and unplug the 2 orange wires that come out with it.
  • Take the new ignition and reconnect the orange wires and insert the lock back into the column.
  • Retighten the 10mm silver bolt.
  • Place the steering wheel back onto the center shaft and simply push down, now special tools are needed for reassembly.
  • Take the air-bag and connect the wires and bolt it back up using the 4 bolts in the back of the steering wheel.
  • You must purchase the ignition lock from a certified Cheverolet dealer. If you do not give them the vin number of the car the correct lock may not be given to you. This is because the chip in your key is 1 of 15 different values that match the passkey 2 computer behind the radio (to the right a bit) otherwise you will need to bypass the passkey system by putting the proper resistor inline so the unit thinks it is reading the key, but this also bypasses a portion of your anti-theft system.

Unable to disable my security system/alarm on my 95 Chev. Camero

yes, do some internet searching, I believe there is a control that you unplug inside the hatch on the left hand side, remove the inside plastic panel, undo the connection, wait 5 minutes then reconnect. This I have done once along time ago on a 94 model. Remember I am only here to help and wish this works for you. Good luck.

How to change the fuel injector seals on a chevy camero 1995

The injectors should be connected to the fuel rail, which looks like a long shiny tube, about the size of a sharpie marker. remove any bolts securing it to the in-take manifold. Then carefully lift the fuel rail off the top of the engine and u should be able to see all of the injectors.

No power to ignition 96 camero dl

Check the wires to the distributer or to the modules could be poor or no conection. If you can turn the car over but no spark it's probably something to do with ignition, distributer, module, or wiring to the ignition.
