Question about 1987 Plymouth Sundance
I just bought a 1987 Plymouth Sundance and it just up and dies for no reason while I'm driving. There is nothing to indicate it is going to stall. It runs smooth and normal. After sitting for a few minutes, it will turn over again. The person I bought it from said she had only driven it once in the last 3 weeks. She was attempting to start the car to get it to me while I was on phone. She said, "It's got gas, just not enough for the engine to turn over. I wonder if I add water if that will get me to a gas station?" I don't know if she actually did just that or has done that in the past, but could that be the problem and is it fixable?
My 87 plymouth sundance is doing the same thing and stalling on me i could be going down the road at 50 it dosen't give me any warning it just stops and then i have to hope that it turns back over and gose most the time, but this last time it wouldnt stay started and go leving me and my kiddos straned i took off the throttle air in take hose and then used the w-d40 but it still not wanting to go i hadn a friend look at and they had said that it was the vultage regulater so i bought the part and looked in sevral manuals it says it should be on the driver side finder near the battery under a cover i have looked all over for it and cant find it could anyone help me out? please!

If you take the air intake hose off at the throttle body inlet, and when it won't start, try spraying WD-40 into the front of throttle body, with plate open, and then try again. If it starts for a second or 2, it's fuel related problem. Try that and let me know the results, and get back to me. Use the WD-40 same as you would quick start spray. What engine is in that , 6 cyl, or 4 cyl. ?
