Question about 1996 Ford Taurus

I put my car in drive and it wont move but if I put it in reverse it goes, what could be the problem?

You could start by checking the fuses, I'm pretty sure that the reverse clutch is applied hydraulically. The forward cluches all use electric solenoids. I could be wrong.

Car wont go move in drive


Low transmission fuid, clogged transmisson filter, and hate to say, very possibly badly worn transmission. At this point I have never seen a change of fluid and filter fix it. Time to rebuild the tranny or have it replaced.

ur linkage come un clipped from the rod that goes into the transmission or ur bands need adjusted if its a clutch bleed the clutch

Reverse wont work after a long drive


Change your fluid and filter and see if that helps,and put a can of lucas in it

internal transmission problem. The forward drive clutch has failed. Sorry for the bad news.
