Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Montero
I have the same problem on all three and they went at different times. Mitsubishi dealer think there is a problem with the socket itself but I have not had the patience to take of all the panels to check this yet. Have you had a result yet?

look under ur dashs fuse box covers for a white label which should tell u of the locateion of the fr-acc fuse or rr-acc socket fuse location. replace the burnt fuse or fuses.(acc = accessory)

First check your accessory fuses under the dash. You may have a blown fuse. If the fuses are fine, and you have a voltage meter, check to see if you have power to the lighter. You may have a problem with the wiring to the lighter.
