Vehicle: Fluid Type Specifications
Engine Oil
API Grade: SH Energy-Conserving II or SJ Energy Conserving, or ILSAC multigrade engine oil.
Use the chart below to determine SAE viscosity by temperature range anticipated before next oil change. SAE 5W-30 is the best choice for good fuel economy and ease of starting in cold weather.
Temperature Range ............................................................................................................................................................................................ Viscosity
0° F and Above ......................................................................................................................................................................................................... 10W-30
At All Temperatures .................................................................................................................................................................................................. 5W-30

Why is my 1998 toyota corolla oil getting short

Is there any white smoke? Could be your valve stem seals. But the Toyota Corolla in this year's is known for burning oil. If you are having to add more than 1 quart per month. You may have a problem. Check for the obvious. Milky oil. Idle it to op temp and smell exhaust for burnt oil smell. Hit the gas...see any white smoke? Open your radiator cap after running and smell for exhaust... If all is well then you have a normal running toyota corolla. These cars are champs. They just tend to burn a Lil oil here and there.

Can engine oil leak into transmission on toyota corolla 1989

Sounds like you need to get your transmission serviced as the darkened color is a sign of deteroration. As for oil to somehow make it into the transmission you would need one serious oil leak and the grommet around the tranmission dipstick would have to be pretty much gone for oil to somehow make it into the housing. Needless to say I've never seen it happen.

I need a manual to help me rebuild the motor in my 1998 toyota corolla ve .. any information you can give me will be most helpful.. thanks, snellbelly37@yahoo.com

I can help you on the rebuild info. What is wrong with the engine? If it is real bad it would likely be cheaper to just replace the engine with a used engine from a salvage yard. Usually replacement engine parts for toyota aren't cheap. The used engine will be the cheaper option.
