If you are talking about the blower motor resistor then it goes to the Blower motor.
If something else then reply back so we can help!

there is a resistor that controlls the speed of the fan and you have to replace it it is located where the plug goes to the fan motor it should have two plugs in it one from the controlls the other goes from the resistor to the fan it is a dealer only item it costs around 89 dollars check different dealerships if you have more than one close by the price will vary my 2006 chevy silverado work truck lost the 1 and 2 speeds then others and it was freezing out and i replaced it and have not had any problems since inspect the wires i had two wires and one part of the plug melted on mine went to junk yard and got a new plugg for under ten bucks dealer wanted 117 dollars

Blower does not work on my 2005 chevy silverado

I would check the plug and wiring at the blower motor resistor, next to the blower motor. The switch, blower motor or blower motor resistor maybe bad.

2005 silverado 1500, blower motor working intermitantly, any idea what the vlotage should be based on fan speed? not sure if the cause is the resistor or the blower motor. Don't want to buy the wrong part

try this unplug the wireing from the resistor and look at the plug take special notice of the third pin from the left and I think you will see that is melted, it seems to be a common problem. the fix is to replace the resistor and the plug. Most auto parts stores will carry them I got mine at advance auto. I hope this helps you.

2006 silverado 5 speed heat, the high speed is not working. I do have the 4 lower speeds

The switch, high blower speed relay or the wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. The highest setting 5 has no resistor, so the blower runs on high but the high current flow ends up burning up the switch's contact on that setting or the relay and may be the resistor wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. Common would be the switch it self, if the switch is good. Then it's going to be the blower relay or wire leads at the speed resistor by the blower motor under the glove box by the passenger leg compartment. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your Silverado running 100% again soon.

2006 Chevy Silverado. Blower motor harness and resistor is melted any idea of the part numb ers and a good place to purchase these besides a dealer? Thanks, Joe

If there is a Auto Zone around your area, you can buy the blower resistor for around $30.00 or Parts Source and they will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools and they can also order you any wire harness you may need if damaged. Good luck and keep me posted.

2006 chevrolet silverado all fan switch works but 5th which is high?

Check blower motor resistor sit next to blower blower housing, will have a seven wire plug going into it, and two wire's coming out red & black that go to blower motor, remove resistor and check voltage at little resistor on back of blower resistor, if no voltage going across while you have it on high, bad resistor. Hope this helped.

How to find and replace blower motor resistor on 06 silverado

The blower motor and resistor are on the passenger side under the dash.Your truck may have a closeout panel you will need to remove. Look at the resistor wiring as it may be melted to the resistor. If so you will need the connector. Your local dealer should have the part. The connector will come with all white and black wires. Replace them one at a time.

2003 Silverado heater blower switch

I had this same problem on my 2003 Chevy Silverado. It is the resistor pack that is bad. Not the switch or the knob that you turn. It is loacated on the passanger side underneeth the glove box. You have to take a cover off to replace it. This is a dealer item, so you will have to get it from a GM dealer parts dept. You will also have to replace the plug that goes to it as it will be overheated. The resistor pack was about 69.00 but the plug was outrageus about 160.00. I chose not to use the plug.
Soldered on some wires directly to the resistor pack and then soldered them to the wires on the truck. Good Luck
