Not its not coverd under hpp, but if the belt is slipping it wont charge very well, also an alternator was never intended to recharge a flat battery only to keep it toped up,,, if its tottle flat it would be best to recharge it with a mains charger first as the alternator will never fully charge it from flat,, unless you drive around the world first??? it would take years to do it,,,if ever,,,charge the battery first with a mains charger

How do i replace the alternator on a 2000 tundra 4.7L 4x2 non serpentine configuration

I presume the serpentine belt is in the way. First, disconnect the battery terminal. Then make sure the serpentine belt diagram is readable and remove the serpentine belt. Then release the tension on the alternator belt and remove all the bolts and wiring.

Have battery/alternator checked. Really clean connectors and battery posts even if they look ok. If battery is ok have it slowly recharged for 12-24 hrs. Alternators are not designed to recharged an empty battery but just to maintain the full charge. I large amp and sound system demands a big battery and heavy duty alternator.

The gauge in your truck reads the alternator output. Following are the possible causes:

1. Belt is slipping
2. Battery is shorted
3. Poor connection at battery or to frame
4. Alternator failing

The fact that it came back after turning off the heat and lights, I suspect the belt, and would start there.

Gauge shows battery not recharging

There could be a couple of causes, the most likely is a bad battery cable or connection, or the fusible link on the positive connection(marked bat on the alternator)has gone bad.

Just want to replace the belt do i have to remove the alternator

Back in 2000 Hyundai did not use automatic tensioners on the 2000 accent. You have to loosen the bolt on the side of the tensioner. Then you turn the other bolt counter clockwise to loosen the bolt which will loosen the tensioner. Then you have to loosen the big bolt that is on the other side of the alternator. You may have to take off your power steering belt to get to the alternator belt. Now do the opposite to install your belt.
I hope this helps.

Battery problem

You either have a circuit somethere in a system or the alternator does not do a good job (Failure of the diode bridge or voltage regulator in the alternator). Also if your vehicle has an average run time (to go to work) of less than 20 minutes, your alternator will not have the opportunity to recharge the battery fully. You can check it for free in Autozone (battery votage and alternator charge).
Also check the battery connectros and alternator connectors for deposition
Good Luck

the alternator is what runs all the electric in your car, and keeps the charge on your batterie so you can start your car. if it is not working then after the batterie is dead then the car will not start, no lights will come on or anything.
