Sounds like your timing belt could have skipped a tooth, get the timing checked.

05 uplander when i start the van runs fine, i go to drive have no power, throttle is spongy. when i hold the throttle to the floor it takes off with great power and then it runs fine from then on ,

For an EGR code, I would have looked at the EGR valve, wiring to it, and the catalytic converters first. The only other thing I can think of is the programming for PCM. I think you may have a wiring problem, keeping the EGR valve or throttle open. You need to find another shop to go to. You should complain to the shops you payed good money to, that didn't fix the problem. Get your money back. I'm not a point and guess car electrician. I get 2 hours to diagnose. 2 hours shop rate. I have a 95% success on fixing problems. The first time. The other 5% is major wiring issues.

95 chevy g20 van started to lose power while driving and began to spit and sputter

Ck your alternator output, should be between 13.8 and 14.2 volts, A bad alt will cause the battery to discharge when driving, Once voltage drops to a certain level (9.8 I think ) the ecm starts to shut down causing all kinds of strange problems, like running bad ,trans not shifting right, even the radio ! It happened to me in my 95 chev p/u

Car randomly loses power and speed when driving, but remains on

I have the same problem! Car is at ford dealership now. I'm figuring a bad fuel filter, clogged catalytic converter, heck, it could even be that the spark plugs need changing. Hoping for something minor! Will write what my problem is when I find out and you can take it from there

Dodge Grand Caravan 2005 P0016 code

Im assuming it is an engine that uses a timing belt. It sounds like the belt has jumped 1 tooth. if it only jumped 1 tooth than the computer will compesate the timing so it is possible the sensors will say they are ok. If it is a motor that uses a chain than it problaly needs a new gear/chain set.

Interminently Losing Power 97 Saturn SC2

Hmmm, as to on-again, off-again engine power, it may be the electrical connector that runs from the electronic control unit. Read this diagnostic article, as it seems similar to your situation:

You might also want to read up on engine overheating since you say you seem to have that:

I'm getting the same message, when I'm driving at about 65 mph van starts losing power, kind of "coughing". I've been told that could be either fuel inyector or the need of a good tune-up. I'm taking my van (2002 E250 V8) to the dealership, they have the special equipment to zero into the problem and fix it,
