06 Cobalt 2.2 . If code P0128 is stored for a long period without being fixed, can it cause the sec air inj pump to run unneccessarily and wear out the pump motor?

code P0128 is ECT ( engine coolent temp. ) most likely cause is a stuck open thermostat. the engine is not getting up to operating tempture.

thas code has nothing to do with the air injection pump, and will not cause the pump to run. the air injection pump is part of the exhust system and the coolent temp. sensor is part of the fuel manangment system.

Replaced both knock sensors in 1999 silverado 5.3L. had computer re-programed for updated bulletin that was supposed to help engine knock and bring false knock codes from coming on. after a couple days,...

If the Knock sensor wire is located near the Ignition coil wiring the electro magnetic interference from the Ignition coil can rub off on the knock sensor wire causing the brain to think the knock sensor is sending a code.

You can place a millivolt meter across a knock sensor and tap it with a screwdriver and read voltage. If it doesn't read a voltage the sensor is bad. Its job is to generate a voltage.

Also, Using a timing light the distributor must be set to spec, if not this will trigger the knock sensor. Another trigger could be a bad temperature coolent sensor screwing with the fuel and timing, causing a knock. Some bad coolent temp sensors do not display a code when they're at fault, some simply slip under the radar. Usually when the temp sensor is bad the engine will not idle properly, or hesitates in most cases. The knock senser must have a good ground to the head or block, Do not use any thread tap or compound that would prevent a ground of the sensor.

Truck is opening by self and door lock are working by self when car is off parked noone in car can hear clicking for wipers motor too

Sounds like low voltage. A bad battery and or the ground connection to the body or the engine to the body is bad. The body control module needs to be checked for codes. Now a code reader like they use at an auto parts store will nor read body cdes a true scanner. OTC, Snap-on, andmany other units.

Engine coolent temp circuit high input. what is

More than likely the fan switch in the radiator has failed or the fan itself has failed / is not running, so the water returning from the radiator to the engine is HOT therefore you are seeing the high coolant temp input indication. Check out the operation of your radiator fan.

If the fan circuit is OK then the water temp thermostat may very well be be stuck closed.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Check engine light, not registering temp

Hi, You'll need to get the trouble codes read. I'm guessing the code probably has something to do with your engine coolant temperature sensor or the engine coolant temperature sending unit.

Hi:
Your coolant temp sensor was not reading right, and is a sensor that adjusts your eng timing. I would keep an eye on your coolant level. That would be a bigger concern, figuring out if you have a leak. If the cold comes back, you need to change out the coolant temp sensor.
