Question about 1988 Mazda 323 Hatchback

1 Answer

My Mazda turns over, i know the starter works and i've checked the spark plugs and they are getting spark. i was told that it probably has something to do with the fuel. the car has been sitting for a little more than a year now and i was wondering where to start thanks

Try some starting fluid. just spray it in the air filter box while someone turns it over.
fuel can go bad if it sets too long. the more fuel that was in there sometimes lasts longer. you may have to drain the tank and add some fresh fuel.

I have a 2007 Mazda CX7, Yesterday I got in my car to go to work & the check engine light came on. Now the car is just chugging along.

It could be a multitude of problems. You can probably try spark plugs and air filter (probably wouldn't hurt if you haven't changed them for a while), but you may still need to take it for service. Sometimes you can take it to an auto parts store (NAPA, O'Reilly, etc) or auto service center and they will check it with their computer.

Remove the spark plugs and turn it over to expel excessive fuel. Replace the spark plugs. Remove and have the starter checked.

Car turns over but won't start, also no spark from plugs and some oil going through the internal of distributor. Car did have dirty fuel but I cleaned the tank and lines. Still no go!

Something similar happened to me. Car is getting old, however look to replacing your spark plugs and check that you fuel pump is going okay. When you start up, have someone bang away on the fuel tank to see whether this gets the pump working. Try these for starters, but I'm sure there are more expert people who may be able to help.

My mpv wont turn over no spark

If the van was running before you changed the wires, I don't see how it is not firing the plugs now unless you got the wrong wires and they are not making contact with the coil towers and the plugs.
If there is no spark on any of the wires, something happened to the coil pack or the crank/cam sensors. Or a fuse or relay for the coil pack.
I would probably try an old plug wire to make sure, then check the coil for voltage.

89 mazda 626 turns over have fuel no spark replaced the ignitor

Check for power at the coil. If you have a good power and ground at the coil with no shorts anywhere, and you don't have spark, replace your coil. Try these things and let me know what you find.
I hope this info helps!

may be ignition sensor?did the fuel pump have power was it a new pump so you are sure it works did he test run it before instalation?pull a spark plug lay it asside an attached to plug wir dont hold it shocks arent nice....but watch plu gfor spark as someone cranks truck over this will determine for you wethr spark is good or not ....but check that fuel pump works and has power....does truck motor rotate/turn over cuz it could be starter or loose dirty cables loose wire connection to starter or starters hang up sometimes you can tap starter with a hammer while someone tries to start it .that will usually jar a jammed up starter. thanks for using fix ya.

1995 AUDI 90 CS - Hard to start... spark & fuel OK

Have you tried replacing the starter? I know starters can go bad if the car is not started or run for a long time.

I am getting the same car, with the same issue.. it sat for 2 yrs and won't start.

My mechanic told me it is probably a starter.
