Its probably just tight, and check there isnt any little clips you need to press to release it from its housing,if there isnt wiggle at it gently to prize it out but be gentle, should come out, unless its melted in through a malfunction

Boneheaded move While removing Alternator.

Battery power passes through the 100A MAIN fuse in the main fuse box and is connected to the alternator by a BLK/WHT wire. There is a 50A IG KEY fuse that supplies power to the ignition switch. If you accidentally zapped either the LT GRN/WHT or WHT/BLU wire to the BLK/WHT wire, they connect to the PCM. As for your "oops", we all know better but we've all done something like that

My mazda protege 2002 lighter is not working i would like to know what fuse controls it

The cover of the fuse box should have that information on it. If not check your owners manual, it will be labeled in there. If you don't have either one of those, I would start pulling fuses until you found which one is blown. Walmart sells an amazing fuse tester that you just touch it to the fuse and it will tell you if it's bad or good. It sells for about 10 bucks and comes with replacement fuses too. I highly recommend that for anyone!
