The part is called a gauge sending unit and it runs about 19 bucks at autozone. If you're willing to do the work yourself it's pretty easy just make sure you run the tank pretty close to empty as they tend to be pretty heavy when they're full of fuel.

This problem is caused by a defective gas tank sending unit, the gas tank must be removed and the fuel level sending unit replaced. and yes I am sorry but it is very expensive to fix.

the fuel pump and the level sender or all one part called a fuel pump module. the part is around $350.00, the labor is about 3 hours, the job would go for around $500 US here in Calif.

I had the same problem on my 2000 Venture and found the gauge sender at auto zone for about 20 bucks. I did all the work myself and it fixed the problem. A little piece of advice I could give anyone thinking about doing this, run the tank to near empty as they're a tad heavy when they're full of gas.

Why does my 2001 chevy venture van run out of gas when it still has almost 5 gallons of gas still in it?

My Chevy venture 2002 van doesn't start. Good

You replace parts as part of your preventative
maintenance program, not to solve a problem
When working on a problem only component testing
will find the issues
You need to check for fuel pressure at the motor with a gauge
You check spark with a test plug you buy,not ground a plug
or wire on the vehicle
You can check for compression or cylinder leak down
to test some mechanical issues
I would assume ALL Fuse & links have been checked,as
well as battery voltage 12.6 v or more & cables etc
The ignition switch could be bad, turns starter but not all
the internal contacts are good

My 2002 chevy venture roars when I speed up. when changing gears there is a little **** sometimes and a noise . I hear a different noise yesterday, like a motor running when i speed up and the sounds...

it doesn't matter what it could be. you need to get it looked at before you end stranded or break something expensive. Its the only way to know for sure.

The gas gauge on my 2002 chevy venture is not

Your tank sending unit is bad. Unfortunately, it is part of the fuel pump assembly, and the part costs around $400, give or take. plus installation labor. It is an all too common problem on GM vehicles, as I have had to change it on my last 2 GMs. If you do an internet search you will find plenty of others in the same boat!

Hey Chevy Minivan heater dont work properly

Chevy made some weak intake gaskets on 3.1 and 3.4. My guess is that the intake gasket is weak and/or leaking and it is letting pressure out somewhere. At idle maybe the system pressure is to little to push hot coolant into the heater core.

Fault code p0440 CHevy venture

I had that exact code a couple weeks ago. Mine needed new oxygen sensors. They(there are 2, only one was throwing a code, but I had both replaced) cost a little over $100 to have replaced.

I replaced the fuel pump and fuel level gauge on my chevy venture and it works but when I put it back in the gas tank it stops. Why?

sounds like the fuel sending unit has an short in it.  Is there a gasket that you aren't installing or that is defective?
