Try setting the distributor even tho they are controlled by a computer and spark is advanced or retared by the computer if they get 10 degrees or more out of time they cant correct it and start hard or a no start issue. Turn the engine to top dead center on 1. I figured out that the notch on dampener lines up with notch on the block. mark the direction the rotor is facing and when you put the cap on, adjusted the distributor so that the #1 terminal is dead on with the rotor (follow the raised area on the cap from the #1 plug wire and this will let you see where the #1 terminal lines up). one other thing it could also be is the module on the distributor but if you have spark it shouldnt be that

I would call that a good guess after five fuel pumps. Gosh, Jonah, paying for a little diagnostic testing would have saved you the cost of four fuel pumps.

My car won't start I have changed the coil fuel pump fuel pump relay and the Mfi relay I now think its the crank shaft relay but I do not know help me !

Sounds like maybe the main computer is bad. When you cranked the engine there is not any indication that it is firing. If you have changed the fuel pump and coil and it still wont even fire, the computer is most likely the cause. Even if the timming was off you would still get some indication that it was trying to start although it probably would not if the timming was off, but the fact it's not even trying to fire yeah that's my take.

well if ur not getting spark and u changed all of the ignition components lets think about the computer in order for the ignition to work you have crankshaft position sensor that fires the fuel injectors and the spark change that and if still nothing then change the camshaft postion sensor that sensor tells the computer that the 1 piston has came all the way up and it tells the crankshaft sensor to do its thing

How about the fuel pump...are you getting the fuel to the cylinders? Is the fuel making it through the fuel line through the fuel filter? Drop a few drops in 1 cylinder, if it fires, you have a fuel problem. Does it turn over? If not check out the motor starter!

did you change the wire harness when you changed the pump?

I have an 1999 ford rsnger that wont start

DOES IT HAVE POWER/ A GOOD BATTERY? IF SO CHECK & SEE IF IT IS GETTING FIRE OUT FROM THE COIL PACKS,THE QUICKEST WAY TO SEE IF IT IS FIRE OR A FUEL PROBLEM IS SPRAY A LITTLE STARTING FLUID IN THE THROTTLE BODY,& IF IT CRANKS & THEN CUTS RIGHT BACK OFF ITS A FUEL PROBLEM,FUEL PUMP FUSE,FUEL PUMP RELAY,OR FUEL PUMP,& OR FUEL FILTER, IF ITS NOT GETTING FIRE IT COULD BE A CRANK SENSOR, A CAM POSITION SENSOR,COIL PACK(S) OR A FUSE OR RELAY.

Engine cranks, but won't start. Car has gas-Confirmed. Air Filter clean. Problem developed over several days. (i.e. harder & harder to start each day.) No problem noticed in engine/vehicle performance...

test replace the fuel pump relay, make sure the relay socket has 12 volts to 2 of it's terminal when the key is held in crank position, if not you may have a defective ignition switch or Powertrain control module (PCM)
