The belts may need to be adjusted. Make sure the squeak is not from your brake pads. You may need to have new brake pads. You also, may have gotten water in your engine from a poor quality gasoline or from rainy weather. Make sure also, you have fluid in the small tank which is the brake fluid.

A raddling noise from the pully and belt area close to the alternator noise increases when car is idling and isnt audible when car is accelerating

I had this problem on my 92 SSEI.
Was the Harmonic balancer for sure.
Damper rubber breaks away from pulley.
I had it rebuilt as I was told to stay with it,
it is matched to your crank.
Best Regards

Engine noise once i hit 25 mph. sounds like there is a moped under the hood.

maybe a pully or bearing on the power steering or alternator/ idler pully harmonic balancer

The largest(damper pulley, I think) squeaks and wobbles. I have had it to the Chevy place twice and $600 later it still squeaks.

The only reason that this should squeak is if the harmonic balancer is seperating. You would have to remove the bolt, use a puller to remove the balancer, and using a NEW bolt, put a new balancer on. This is a very rare and unusual problem, and usually a misdiagnosis on where the sound is coming from. More than likely, it's actually a tensioner or idler pully (there's two tensioners on this truck), or the alternator.

Engine squeek

Check your idler pulley(s) & serp. belt, alternator & lastly your timing belt idler. Squeeks generally signal impending bearing failure. With the engine running, turn on your lights: if it goes away or gets worse, most likely its the alternator. If it stays, could be the serp. idler. Using a long screwdriver, press the tip against the alternator frame and idler support and press your ear to the other end. Its crude, but it does work...should be able to get closer to the source. If you need to replace parts, start with the idler & serp. belt, then alternator (you might be able to have it rebuilt for a fraction of the cost) and lastly timing belt & idler.
Good luck.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee squeaking and power steering

It very well could be the pawer steering pump. But to isolate the squeking sound, take that can of wd-40 and find the idler pully and tensior pully. Spray the bearing area of both pulleys. If your bearing in those pulleys are going bad then it will make that noise. If the wd-40 quits the noise at one of those tow pulleys then you know which one to replace. If its does not, then start looking to replace the powersteering pump. I take it you have checked the power steering fluid levels and they are ok?? Also, you stated that the noise started after you bought the alternator, then try a new alternator. It might of just been a faulty alternator. Happens all the time. One last inexpensive tip is replacing all belts with new. Belts get glazed over and dirty and cause noise too. One last question. Did you make sure the belts were tight enough? Just a little variance in the belt tension can make the difference.

Squeaking noise front drivers side of engine

Loosen the belts [ you do not need to remove] so they are free of tension to all pulleys.Start engine , if noise goes away either belts were too loose [ common on lx 450] or you have a worn & noisey pulley /bearing.have seen idler pulley below alternator have dry / noisey bearing.Otherwise if idler is ok it has to be another belt driven assessory , ac clutch, water pump & or fan clutch.Good Luck.
