YES on the back of the instrument cluster there are 4 diods (circuits) that can be purchased at most electronic storesor you can also replace the cluster. you can get it on eBay for under $100

I noticed this is an old question but I went through this myself. There are some resisters on the back of the instrument panel that over time wear out and pretty much turn to into a brittle piece of carbon. They will pretty much desolve in your fingers. I found a site that had a video showing much resisters need to be replaced and that you can get them from Radio Shack for a few dollars. The hard part I had was the contacts are very fragile and it is very easy to mess up the contacts. I was able to restore the odometer and the side led screen "turbo, oil life, etc" but it's a lot dimmer than it originally was and I wasn't able to restore the background glow of the dash. It's been a while so I don't know where I found the video but I'm pretty sure it's still out there. A new "used" instrument panel costs arround $800.

Go to and search cluster fix. There are resistors on the circuit board that come loose over time.

No odometer

You need to have it solder or change the cluster. If you change the the cluster you'll have to program it. My Buick did the same thing and I had someone solder my cluster and it worked ever since I fixed it.

2002 Buick Regal LS. The odometer display for mileage and computer control display (average consumption, oil change, etc) are dim. All of them are digital. It is looking like not enough voltage on this...

most of the time when this occurs it is a bad connection between the display and the dash. pull the display ckuster out and clean the contacts and retry also check your grounds for a good connection also bad ground or dirty ground will cause this as well...
