SOURCE: brake failure stop asap lights and

I have had the same problem with my car for 3 months now. It is the ABS module that needs to be replaces. Ignore the stop ASAP light the brakes will still function as standard brakes. You just don't have ABS brake functionality or STC when those lights are on. Your car should still drive fine. Go on line and order a rebuilt ABS module for about $200 and the problem is solved. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Brake light on dash is on. What does it mean?

This Light Indicates 1 of 2 things, 1. Is the BRAKE FLUID Level is LOW, Or 2. That the Parking BRAKE is Applied. Check Fluid and Top Off If Needed, There is A LINE that Shows The PROPER Level.

SOURCE: my ABS light is on

The ABS light being on means that there is a problem with the ABS, but not the basic braking system. The "shaking" in the pedal you felt is probably a warped rotor. This common on Ford vehicles.
An ABS failure usually is related to the wheel sensors being defective or dirt buildup.

Brake light stay on

Brake pedal switch may be stuck or you could possibly have a shorted wire. Try stepping on the brake a few times to see if lights go out. If red brake indicator on dash is what you mean, brake fluid may be low, bad brake fluid level sensor, or some type of malfunction in abs system.

When i turn on my lights my brake and tail lights dont work but when i turn off my lights they work fine

This is common when a bulb is installed wrong or there is a bad ground. you will need to check the wiring to the rear lights on both sides,When the lights are turned on and brakes applied the extra power needed to light the brake lights with the park lights is why they go out. this is due to a bad ground or bad sockets. try this first, turn on lights and have someone hold brake pedal, when lights are out tey to wiggle wires and also connect a good ground to ground wire to light, the light will light and this means the ground is bad, the next thing to find out is if it is a wire or the socket is bad. good day

Brake lights stay on

You problem could just be that the brake switch is out of adjustment or bad.It is located on the brake pedal under the dash.Try pulling up on the brake pedal and see if the lights go off.By pulling up I mean grab the pedal with your hand and pull towards you.The opposite of when you step on the brakes with your foot.If they still stay on you will have to go under the dash and disconnect the brake switch connector and see if the lights go off. There might be 2 switches on the pedal. One is for the cruise shut off and the other the brake switch.Hope this helps.Good luck.

It wont start or shift out of park

Jaguar shifters are a known problem. Make sure your brake lights work, have someone verify while stepping on brake pedal with key on. IF you have brake lights your shifter assembly is bad. Replace and you will be good to go.

Tail lights and hazards work but my brake lights dont work

Check the bulbs first of all (and fuses), if this is not the problem it is probably the brake light switch. If your car has cruise control, see if pressing the brakes make the cruise control go off. If not, you definitely have a bad brake light switch. If they do go off, though, it doesn't mean the brake light switch is not bad. You really need to take the swich off and test it with a multimeter set to ohms or continuity. If the switch tests bad, you know it has to be replaced, so if you are ambitious and mechanically inclined, you could take it apart and see if you can fix it. I was actually able to take a brake light switch apart, repair it, and put it back in the car on one occasion. It only worked for a few weeks, but it got me by.

What does it mean when the brake light on dash board comes on when you press on the brakes?

It could mean you need to add Brake Fluid or you have a problem with low brake pressure, ie: bad Master Cylinder. Check your Brake Fluid Reservoir and make sure it is at the Full Mark, if you press on the brake pedal and the brakes feel spongy or not firm, then your Master Cylinder is bad.

Parking brake light stays on. I checked the switch on the parking brake and it is ok(going to ground when engaged and not going to ground when pedal released) .Does this light come on for the abs also or...

some makes of car use the light for more than one thing as if any thing goes South with the brakes means you should look at all of the brake system. It could be simple like a bad switch or low brake pedal. Newer cars and trucks use two lights in combination to show there is a problem.
