Question about 2006 Pontiac G6
I don't know about all the engines, but the V6 does not have a power steering pomp. There is an electric motor (under the dash one the steering column) that handles the power steering. If the information center is reporting a power steering problem, the power steering motor will need to be replaced. It is not cheap ($600).

I assume that you are speaking of your power steering pump. You can follow your belts and the pump will be powered by one of the belts. You will recognize the pump because it will have a cap on top of it where you can check and or add PS fluid, the correct level will be indicated by a dipstick that is integrated into the cap. Good Luck. I hope this helps.
