Question about Jeep Grand Cherokee
1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 6 cyl.
When the switch is set to defrost, and starting the vehicle up first thing in the morning or whenever it's been off for more than a few hours, it starts, chunders and dies out. It does not happen during the warmer months but get worse the colder it gets.
The RPMS bounce up and down between 250 to 750 at the point of starting and then the vehicle dies out. To keep it running we have to press on the gas and keep the gas pedal pressed to keep the vehicle at 750 RPMS until it has fully warmed up. It will then run with only minor rpm bouncing around 750 rpms.
It can also do this without the defrost being on, but only in the winter months.
We have brought it to three mechanics, one was a jeep dealership. This has been a problem for the past two years.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
