The sensor which is on the tranny is most likely faulty and needs to be replaced. You can test it with an ohmmeter and test power to and from it with an voltmeter

It is possible. Even the slightest pot hole could rattle the sensor. A slight bump in the bumper could also crack the sensor.

There looks like 2 sensors on each side of vehicle. 2005-2007 are the same.

If they were working before chances are you just blew a fuse or maybe if you recently had a lot of stuff in the trunk you may have unplugged or broke a wire but I would say more that a fuse was blown . Hope this helps

My temp gauge maxes out but the moter doesent get hot n i get heat at first then heat stops blows cold air ... i replaced senser on thermostat housing but cant find other senser . im told there is two

The likely problem is an air bubble in your cooling system. Recommend you park on an incline, remove the radiator cap, set the heater on high, start the car and let it warm up until there is flow in the radiator. Fill the radiator and keep it full while the engine continues to run. Look for any bleed ports the system may have either in the hoses or at the attach point housings. Crack any bleeders open to allow any air out. Top off the radiator all the way to the neck and make sure there are no bubbles coming up. Bubbles coming out the radiator are an indication of a blown head gasket. If no bubbles, close the cap. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

Reverse lights not working

Not 100% sure on that particular vehicle but many have safety neutral & back-up switch as one on transmission. Maybe dealer or part store can look up part & tell you if one switch in your case does both.

97 Dakota Wont move in reverse

it doesent have to be slipping to go bad.youve lost reverse and it could be the solenoid on the side of the trasnmission but i dont think so since it would affect all the gears
