I repl tcc sensor on transmission and after reinstall cover a had trans fluid leak by axle on left side not axle but leak trhu cover alot please help me alreadi star to remove cover again

Possibly a plugged vent? Thus causing pressure in the hub unit and blowing the seal when the pressure rises.
If you are 100% positive the seal is installed correctly. You probably need a new transmission. the differentials in those cars are known to start getting free play and won't allow the axles to seal.

(391) Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor
Inside the transmission behind side cover
Removal Procedure
Remove the case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .

Important: Lock steering wheel in centered position with wheels straight ahead.
Remove the engine dress cover.
Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.1L or Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.1L or Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
Important: For supercharged engines, remove the throttle cable bracket.
Disconnect the shift cable bracket.
Remove the transaxle top side cover bolt.
Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture in Engine Mechanical - 3.1L or Engine Support Fixture in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
Disconnect the transmission wiring harness connector.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
Remove the left inner splash shield 3 push pins.
Loosen the wheel speed sensor harness from the 5 retainers at the cradle.
Remove the transmission support to cradle nuts only. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement .
Raise the vehicle.
Remove the front splash shield 5 bolts.
Loosen the engine mount lower nuts. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.1L or Engine Mount and Bracket Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
Remove the stabilizer bolts and reposition the stabilizer.
Remove the steering gear cradle bolts, then support gear before lowering cradle.
Support the left side of the frame with a jackstand.
Remove the left side frame bolts. DO NOT loosen the right front or the right rear frame bolts. Refer to Frame Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
Remove the left ball joint from the steering knuckle.
Position the drain pan under the transaxle.
Remove the left drive axle from the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Drive Axle.
Secure the drive axle to the steering knuckle/strut.
Adjust the jackstand to lower the left side of the frame until it hangs free. Remove jack stand.
Lower vehicle to access engine support fixture.
Lower the engine/transmission assembly with the engine support fixture to gain access to remaining side cover bolts.
If replacing the side cover, remove 4 engine mount bracket bolts.
Remove the harness retainer.
Raise vehicle to access side cover bolts.
Remove the case side cover bolts (56-58).
Remove the case side cover pan (53).
Remove the case side cover gasket (54).
Clean the case.
Clean the side cover gasket mating surfaces.

Disconnect the wiring harness assembly from the fluid temperature sensor (391).
Remove the fluid temperature sensor (391).
Installation Procedure
Install the fluid temperature sensor (391).
Connect the wiring harness assembly to the with fluid temperature sensor (391).
Install the case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset. Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.
Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions .

Where is the torque converter sensor located on the transmission?


Eric, The TTC Torque Converter Solenoid is located behind the side cover which has to be removed to access. I will post links for you.

Trans axle fluid level


Look for check plug on the side of the transmission. (Should be mid way up or higher on the side)
Remove plug and insert pinky finger.
Fluid should be at that level.
If not, add until it starts to pour back out.

Reinstall plug and drive.

Lay down some plastic with some rags over it to catch the mess so you don\'t booger up the driveway and please make sure the brake is on AND you have the tires blocked.

How would some know that?

I assume you haven't even had it road tested yet
by a trans or repair shop

There are no new transmissions,only new when the
car is assembled

P1744 enginge code tcc solenoid circuit


DTC P1744 is "TCC - Excessive Slip Detected During Full TCC Engagement". Which means that the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) is disengaged or the EPC pressure is at the minimum.

The most likely cause is a sticking or bad TCC solenoid inside the transmission. You can check the connector at the transmission to make sure it is clean and tight and that it is not damaged in any way.

If the TCC and wiring is okay, then pressure testing of the transmission will need to be done.

A new torque converter from Ford is about $265.00 and about 4 hours labor. Throw in a $40.00 TCC solenoid and I don't think it'll be more than $700.00 at worst.

If the pressure test is good then it's just going to be the $40.00 tcc solenoid and the cost of the transmission oil and filter changed which should be around $150.00

Good luck and hope it's just a loose wire harness to the solenoid which would cost $0.00 and just your time to locate the break in the wire. The other thing to, is to add a transmission fluid additive that would restore the clutch pack in the transmission and Torque Converter.

HELLO!

IM ASSUMING YOU ARE REFERENCING THE TCC SOLENOID OR BETTER KNOWN AS THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID. THIS SOLENOID IS LOCATED IN THE SIDE PAN OF THE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY. THERE IS AN UPDATED VERSION OF THIS SOLENOID AVAILABLE FROM AC DELCO AND IT COMES WITH THE HARNESS ATTATCHED. YOU WILL ALSO NEED A SIDE PAN GASKET AND ABOUT 2 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. ON SOME MODELS LIKE YOURS THERE IS A TRANSMISSION MOUNT IN THE WAY THAT MAKES THIS JOB MORE DIFFICULT. IF YOU ENCOUNTER THIS BRACKET YOU WILL NEED TO SUPPORT THE ENGINE/TRANSAXLE FROM THE TOP SIDE AND THIS REQUIRES USE OF SPECIAL ENGINE SUPPORT FIXTURE THAT MOST REPAIR SHOPS WILL HAVE ON HAND. IF THE SIDE PAN IS ACCESSIBLE YOU CAN REMOVE THE SIDE PAN WITHOUT TOO MUCH TROUBLE THROUGH THE DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL OPENING. THIS REQUIRES WHEEL REMOVAL. JACK THE CAR UP ON DRIVER SIDE AND SUPPORT WITH SUITABLE JACK STAND. TAKE SPLASH SHIELD OFF THAT IS PARTIALLY COVERING SIDE PAN. REMOVE BOLTS IN SIDE PAN(13MM). GENTLY PRY COVER LOOSE. YOU WILL LOOSE A LITTLE FLUID SO PUT A DRAIN PAN UNDER WORK AREA. YOU MAY HAVE TO LOOSEN BOLTS ON SHIFTER CABLE TO AID IN REMOVAL OF PAN. AFTER PAN IS REMOVED UNPLUG ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS FROM HARNESS.(REFERENCE NEW SOLENOID HARNESS TO AID YOU IN WHICH ONES TO REMOVE) THE LARGE END OF HARNESS WHERE ALL WIRES HOOK TO HAS A RETAINING TAB THAT YOU WILL NEED TO UNCLIP. THE INSTALLATION IS REVERSE OF THE REMOVAL. BE SURE TO CLEAN ALL GASKET MATERIAL FROM PAN AND TRANSMISSION CASE AS THE SMALLEST PIECE LEFT ON WILL CAUSE A LEAK, DO NOT USE ANY SEALER ON NEW GASKET. AC DELCO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL PARTS STORE OR DEALER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THESE PARTS FOR A LASTING REPAIR. AFTER REPAIRS START VEHICLE AND LET RUN ON A FLAT SURFACE. CHECK TRANS FLUID IN PARK,WARM. UNLESS YOU LOST TRANS FLUID PREVIOUSLY TRANS SHOULDNT TAKE MUCH FLUID FROM REPAIR TO THIS SOLENOID. GOOD LUCK!!

Our 2001 Dodge Caravan seems to be leaking oil around drive shaft


Yes it's a bad seal and most likely the side bearing to the trans axle is bad too. Once the bearing has play, it vibrates and causes the oil to leak though the seal. Note: if one side went bad the other side is soon to follow since they have the same amount of miles on them. Might as well change both side. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep an eye on the transmission fluid level, don't want to burn out the transmission.

1998 pontiac transport 3.4 auto leaking trans fluid


It sounds like the Transmission line has a leak. Check the transmission line from the transmission to the radiator. You have two steel lines which runs to and from the transmission to the transmission cooler in the radiator. The line could be corroded and may need to be replaced, good luck and service the transmission too. The transmission on the transport are know to have problems when ran low on fluid or dirty transmission filter.

check 1st 2nd shift solenoid (lift it of the box check passage way is clear ) use genuine fluid i cant strees this enough (9 years working on hondas taught me ) it works so many problems solved with a simple oil change
