I am almost positive that you cant do that on a 3.3 that originally came with a/c. They sell a belt for a 3.3 without a/c but the pulley system would be different on that model.

The parts store also sells a pull attachment to replace the ac compressor, and you can still use the same belt, and the bypass pull cost about the same as the belt you just bought, and there is no confusion, the compressor will probley still be in the way trying to bypass the ac compressor .

When the ECM is replaced you need to have it reprogrammed. It may run the engine for a bit but there are t many variables to keep it going. Some auto parts stores are doing this now. call around. Much cheaper than a dealer. If you had it reprogrammed then you need to check the codes. This will give a direction to go.

Check under the hood for routing sticker. Most cars have one there. If not, you could ask the dealer or your local auto parts store for it.

There should be a diagram under the hood. If not go to your local auto parts house and ask for them to help. They will. Yes you can bypass the AC compressor by getting a belt for a model with out air but you may or may not have to modify the pullys by adding a idler pully if the set up will allow. I would recomend calling a chrysler dealer and asking them they should be able to tell you and it is free. You can't beat free

Having trouble finding the tensioner for the ac belt any ideas

You didn't say if you were trying to locate it to replace the serpentine belt or the tensioner itself.

The tensioner is on the left side of the engine as you face it from the front. There should be a diagram under the hood on a sticker showing the belt routing. A 3/8" square drive is required to release the tension. There is a special tool for this that you may be able to borrow (rent) from your local auto parts store.
