The spark plugs and coils are located under the upper intake manifold,if you need more help get back to me

You may have triggered the immobilizer when the battery got hooked back up. Try cycling the key in the driver side door lock a couple of times and try it again.

I think your fuel pump relay is bad as it activates the pump and thestarter . Also check the starter relay . It could be going bad.

Where is location of spark plugs in 2004 volvo s40


Under the black plastic cover on the top of the engine. Take that off then take the coils off and you will see the spark plugs.

2004 volvo S40 CAR WILL NOT START


Rock your steering wheel back and forth rapidly while turning the key. This will help the columb lock engage or disingage so you can turn the key all the way to the start position

2004 volvo xc90 rough idle at stop .... has 129k miles..just replaced all spark plugs with platnium.


If the idle problem occurred after replacing the plugs, double check your work. Make sure you installed the coils correctly and that you didn't pinch the coil wiring under the top engine cover. I would also be wary of anything other than the OEM plugs. I've seen too many issues from using aftermarket plugs on these engines.
