2000 saab 95 air con - relay not receiving message to start compressor.

Pressure has been checked and is ok. If you remove the relay and jump the connections with a piece of wire, the compressor starts up. The climate control panel has been checked with a Tech 2 and is sending the correct message.

A/c systems have what is called a low pressure switch, If there isnt enough pressure(freon) in it the compressor wont kick on. I would read the pressures and go from there. 99% of the time when a compressor wont turn on i find that it is low on freon.

When the A/C compressor is activated, either from the ACC control module or by the A/C button on the dashboard, DICE will send the information "A/C ON" out on the bus if the other conditions are fulfilled. The value is used by the Trionic T7.

The control module then calculates the impending torque requirement of the compressor on the basis of the A/C pressure and then requests a corresponding increase in the mass air/combustion. After a short delay the control module grounds pin 4, which is connected to the A/C relay. The control module breaks the circuit to pin 4 before the motor has actually started.

I hope this helps you, Maybe you have a short to ground or B+ to ground short.

You may have freon in system but compressor won't engage unless it's full under pressure. By jumping the the relay you're doing damage to compressor by running on low pressure. Have system evacuated and recharged to proper amount of freon - usually 4 lbs of freon

Air con pump not engauging

Hi:

You should verify that your AC system still has a full charge of refridgerant, and if it does,
The problem is most likely the AC clutch assembly on the front of the compressor.

Since the dash light works, and the fan turns on, there is power to the system, but the compressor won't turn on if the pressure switch says the charge is low, and if you turn the switch, and someone can hear a click of the compressor clutch solenoid, but no air, the clutch assembly is probably the culprit

My 1999 saab 95 has been dying while driving the past 2 days. i can pull the P1300, P1549, P0300 codes with a obdii reader. where do i start with fixing this problem

p1300 and p0300 Inspect the wiring, DI cassette, and the spark plugs are clean and making good contact. p1549 Check the charge air system and the air flow through the Turbo boost pressure control valve. These are relative the code you received.

Saab ignition problem

it is definately the main relay. if you replace the relay then you will fix the problem. Over time the circuit board cracks and causes it to go bad.
