Even with good compression the oil control rings can pass oil in to the combustion chamber, the crank case breather system could also be rstricted, not just the PCV but the passages in and out of the engine.

It could be a oil control ring on piston or oil control valve on head or valve guides to worn or improper valve seal replacement or head gasket cracked head etc

Oil film on rear bumper blue smoke on start up car runs great no smoke puffs on shift 90# compression on all cylinders

That is a bit low for a good engine, but being that it is even on all cylinders, my guess would be that it is just showing signs of wear from age. The oil could be from around the rings, or it could be leaking valve stem seals, also a sign of age.

1988 suzuki samurai . checked compression # 1 180 # 2 140 #3 180 #4 180. #4 plug was gummed up. Engine sounds good.could it be valve stem seals or head gasket.Has 2 barrel carb.and header smokes bad

the compression is not bad however #2 is a bit low. what did the plug look like on #4. was it oily in appearance or chalky white. if it has an oily appearance then that cylinder is burning oil. it could be valve seals or valve guide clearance is too much or oil rings for that cylinder. the other colour is carbon meaning the cylinder is not burning properly. could be a weak ignition component that affects that cylinder or the cylinder has a lot of carbon build up in it. if it was white in colour then your burning coolant. not sure what you mean by header smokes bad, do you mean at the head if so then you may have something leaking onto it and its burning off.

Renault Scenic 2001 - burning oil, good compressions

That shoul be enough compression and if same that is a good sign check for bad Breather or PCV valve, engine has to breath or pressure will force oil. also HOW MUCH OIL DO YOU HAVE / What does the dip stick read. Could be bad intake valve seals / Valve guides.

98 honda accord v6 only has 90 psi compression

90 psi compression is the minumun for gas engine to ignite, you have low compression what is the compression next to it? The compression on Honda V6 is 200psi. you can have a valve problem a blown head gasket, Also make sure your compression gauge is accurate by using another compression gauge

Oil in #1 spark plug tube, plug wire popped off changed valve cover gasket and the upper tube seals. It ran fine for about an hour then started missing again

Was the plug fouled again after you made repairs? Did you install a new plug and run it? If the plug itself is fouling you probably also see blue smoke in the exhaust pipe. Get the engine warm, check compression and do what is called a cylinder leakage test, it puts a volume of air into each cylinder with the valves closed and how much air leaks out determines the over all health of the engine. Does the engine have excess oil consumption? The oil entering the cylinder and fouling the plug can enter from a worn valve guide or guide seal, a worn or damaged oil control piston ring or a worn or damaged piston bore or piston, none of which are going to be inexpensive to fix.

Good luck, i hope this helps.

Oil in cylinder found on plugs when changing 2006 dodge stratus 4 cylinder

Maybe the plug you pulled was not firing ? That's why there is oil on it...if it was firing and your oil ring is bad...then you vehicle will continue to smoke while running.....

It means that an engine with worn piston rings and/or bad valve seals are allowing excessive oil to enter the chamber.

Combo diesel engine blows blue smoke from only one cylinder, disconnected electric on each cylinder but smoked only on the same cylinder. Could it be the head gasket, leak from oil passage way. Should i try...

Blue smoke means that the cylinder is burning oil with gas/diesel. White smoke means that the engine is cold and excess fuel is being burnt. It means that the cylinder is having worn out rings. They need a change. Also check the engine oil level as well. It may be going low gradually.

Smoke from exhaust; bad cylinder rough running

sounds like a head gasket or warped head. go buy a compression teseter. pull the spark plug wires off. remove spark plugs insert teset. turn engine over 3 times for each cylinder. should be within 10-15 of each other. check dipstick look to see if oil is milky.
