-It could be miss fire, bad coil, air leak, injector or spark plug and plug wire. It's hard to tell at this moment.
-First able you needed to check all above to determine which part is bad.

MAF (masas air flow) can do this but you say it idles fine, So your connection of the distributor is not good, it has a tendency break internally it looks good on the outside but disconnects on the inside. The solution is the pigtail of the distributor

93 nissan altima died on the road, won't turn

If it just up and died on the road and will not turn over now even with a jump it almost sounds like you engine may have locked up on you. But it is hard to tell without actually seeing the car. For your sake I do hope it is a different problem. I would like to help you out more. Can you be more specific as to what the car did when it quit on you? Did it make any sounds or anything? Did it quit when you where actually driving or were you sitting some place at an idle? I look forward to hearing from you.

Ok so I bought a 2002 Nissan altima my husband drove it 15 miles filled up gas and drove approx 5 and it died - bad fuel pump.... We replaced the fuel pump but still having drive for awhile and die issues....

theres nothing wrong with the fuel pump..did you test the mass air floww sensor or have the egr valve replaced..it will save you trouble from keeping your 2002 nissan altima from dying out.

My 1993 nissan altima sputters then dies. After a few minutes it turns on. What causes this?

could be alot of things- tune up- cam sensor- crank sensor- idle air controle motor etc etc did it set a code and turn the check engine light on? if it did have the code scanned and see what it is and go from there

Rough idle, dies when trying to give it gas

it'll either be your ignition system (spark plugs, distributor cap, etc) or more likely your fuel system (most likely your fuel pump or your fuel filter)

My 2001 nissan altima feels like it isn't getting gas when I am idling. I had the fuel filter changed and it still wants to die on me. Do you know how to increase the rpms, so it will run higher when I am...

Hi Jerry,
Is the idle surging?? going up and down, while at idle?? and not beeing nice and smooth, or the RPM's just drop down and the car dies?? You don't want to touch any of the factory settings on the throttle chamber aka idle screw on the throttle body. That's factory set for life. You may have a IAC -AAC valve problem which a "air volume control valve". Buut let me know first, what you find as far as the "surging up/down goes", but it doesn't die.

1993 altima ?????

Fuel pressure has to be confirmed with a pressure gauge. Post the psi readings so I can see them. One digit off is enough to cause the problem you are having.
