Lift the hood and watch AC compressor, you will probably see that engaging, and disengaging regularly when defrost is on. ( that is probably your clicking sound your hearing) The AC coming on while in defrost mode, is normal, as it aids in removing moisture, thus defrosts faster. If it appears to happen too often, you may be low on freon, otherwise, you can shut engine off, and remove connector at AC compressor, but be aware, it won't defrost as fast, or as efficiently. If you do remove that connector, I'd advise every once in a while to put it back on for a day or so, to keep the compressor from seizing up. The proper thing would be to have AC system checked first.

When I turn on the air conditioner it is blowing hot air as if the heater were on. Could it be a fuse? It was working fine yesterday.

heater core is going bad my dodge ram truck did the same thing for about three months then steam startedcoming out of the vents it was antifreeze i have not fixed it yet i just bypassed it for now cause its hot and i have to take the dash completly out to get to it, and yes my airconditioner was blowing out hot now immediatly after i bypassed it blows cold again.you have to find where it goes into the motor on both sides so follow the hoses from firewall then buy a 3ft hose to go from one side of motor to the other problem fixed! well that is you wont have a heater until you change the heater core

Front air blows cold, rear air blows warm

I believe the rear A/C - HEATER unit is located under the right rear trim penel. Open the rear hatch and remove inside trim panel on your right side. There you will find an evaporator core and a heater core and a blower motor. Also an expansion valve / orfice tube. Have someone turn the HOT/COLD knob while you look at the motor that opens and closes the temp door located in the evap/heater box for the rear A/C-HEATER. This "motor" doesn't really look like a motor persay. It is about 1 1/2 inches thick and 3 or 4 inches square. If you look at the center of the motot there will be a white round piece of plastic that should be turning one way for heat and the other way for cold. If it's not turning check the plug with a test light to make sure you have power. These things are made of plastic and breake all the time. So if it is turning and you hear it "clicking" then the teeth are stripped or the gear is broken. The motors are not that expensive.(I guess because they breake alot). Hope this helps.

Heater/air conditioner

check to make sure you fan is working it is usuallt either on the firewall on the passanger side under the hood. it will have a cover over it with a hose going in it. if that is not kicking on than you need to replace the fan.

2005 Civic Hybrid -- A/C problem?

what you have is a drain line plugged. there is a drain that goes to a canister inside the engine room that has a blockage. it can be caused by a spider web or something that entered the hose. it backs up the drain and causes water to run inside on the floor. its a real quick fix at the honda dealer if you cant find the location yourself
